‘Outback’ Netflix K-Drama Starring Ryu Jun Yeol: What We Know So Far

A brand new webtoon adaptation is in development at Netflix titled Outback and will star Ryu Jun Yeol in the lead role. Details are limited but here’s everything we know so far about Outback on Netflix.

Outback is an upcoming South Korean Netflix Original thriller series directed by Jeon Doo Kwan (Scene: Strange Tales) and the adaptation of the webtoon G’day (그다이) by author Choi Yong Sung.


What is the plot of Outback?

The synopsis has been sourced from the webtoon description:

“Having lost all contact with his sister, Shiyoung, a worried Shion sets out to see what is wrong by arriving in Australia, where his sister was staying. While staying at the share house his sister was living, he starts to sense that the people there have something to do with his missing sister.”


Who are the cast members of Outback?

At the time of writing, the only cast member reported for the series is Ryu Jun Yeol. 

Ryu Jun Yeol has starred in two titles for Netflix: the thriller series The 8 Show and the mystery thriller film Revelations. Outside of Netflix, Ryu Jun Yeol is best known for his career in Korean cinema and has led films such as Canola, The King, A Taxi Driver, and Little Forest. As for dramas, he played a lead role in the beloved Reply 1988. The actor will also star in Netflix’s upcoming crime-thriller Moustrap. Ryu Jun Yeol will play the lead role of Si-on.
