For anyone confused about the ending to the fifth episode of volume 4 of Love, Death and Robots then allow us to help! We’ll also be covering the remaining episodes of volume 4 of Love, Death, and Robots, but here is the ending explained to The Other Large Thing.

Sanchez, a beloved house cat, has dreams of conquering the world. But without opposable thumbs and oppressed by his human owners, all he can do is dream. However, his dreams of world domination might finally be fulfilled when his owners bring him a robot helper with opposable thumbs that understands him.

Ending Explained

Oppressed by the large ones, Todd and Margie, Sanchez dreams of conquering the world. His road to world dominance finally begins when Todd and Margie bring home a robot helper who is meant to do household chores and cook. However, after the robot reveals he can talk to Sanchez, the cat uses this to his advantage by having the robot feed him all the delicious tuna cans.

Acknowledging the robot as his new servant, Sanchez names him Thumb Bringer. Sanchez reveals that it is not his actual name and refuses to reveal it. Not even his human owners know it, especially not after being neutered. But he will reveal it to Thumb Bringer when he is worthy of it.

Thumb Bringer has access to Todd’s credit card and can also access and control the electrical grid and “other critical systems.” The next morning, after serving Todd and Margie dinner, Sanchez and Thumb Bringer began their plan for world domination by buying more robots through Todd’s credit card and sending them to every home with a cat and a can of tuna to “sweeten” the deal.

Distracted by their food, Todd and Margie overlook Sanchez and Thumb Bringer leaving the apartment. Thumb Bringer switches off the electrical grid around the city and gathers all the robots and cats. Meanwhile, Thumb Bringer has locked the door of the apartment and started a fire, with Todd and Margie trapped inside. With their plan for world domination starting, Sanchez finally reveals his name as “Dingleberry Jones.”

Why did Thumb Bringer help Sanchez?

Despite treating Thumb Bringer as a servant, Snachez cared more for him than for Todd and Margie. This is likely because Todd and Margie would have the robot do all of the chores they were too lazy to do. And who else wouldn’t want to serve the every whim of an adorable cat like Sanchez?

Why does Sanchez want to take over the world?

Doesn’t every cat want to conquer the world? All that’s stopping them from ruling the earth is the lack of thumbs.
