The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is set to receive an update on Netflix (in the US – other regions are excluded) in October 2025 for viewers in the United States, with the second season arriving alongside season 3, which is currently airing on AMC.
Before we discuss the release date, some quick context is in order. AMC first struck a deal with Netflix in 2024, which brought a slew of its titles to Netflix in August 2024 for a single year. The deal expired in August 2025, with several high-profile shows removed; however, some remained. While representatives for Netflix and AMC either declined to comment or, in the latter case, didn’t reply at all, we eventually learned that many of their titles, such as The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, received extensions.
In September, we received official word via a press release to various outlets that AMC would be extending and expanding its licensing pact with Netflix, with The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon among the renewed titles, and a new season coming imminently. Multiple news outlets reported that the series would get an update in October.
We can now confirm that all six episodes of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 will be released on Netflix on October 21, 2025.
As with all the other AMC shows, the show remains available on AMC+.
Season 2 of the show kicks off with Daryl training Laurent to fight the undead, clashing with Losang over pacifism, and rescuing Fallou and Emile from Genet’s troops, though Genet escapes. Meanwhile in Maine, Carol recovers Daryl’s crossbow, convinces grieving pilot Ash Patel to fly her to France by claiming her daughter Sophia is there, and departs as walkers overrun his compound.
These episodes aired in late 2024 and were labeled as The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book Of Carol, with Norman Reedus returning alongside Laïka Blanc Francard, Anne Charrier, Joel De La Fuente, Romain Levi, Melissa McBride, Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Manish Dayal, and Eriq Ebouaney.
As we’ve covered before, the removal date for Daryl Dixon was pushed back to February 2027, meaning that our current estimate (not confirmed) is that season 3 of Daryl Dixon will be released in February 2026. Again, not confirmed, and we’ll let you know once we know more.
That’ll give fans ample time to catch up on the show ahead of the fourth and final season, which reportedly began filming between late July/August and will continue through January 2026, with its new filming location in Spain (seasons 1 and 2 were filmed in France). No release date for that just yet, although it’s likely going to return in late 2025.
