Netflix’s Wednesday is continuing to grow an all-star cast for its upcoming third season. In the latest round of casting, the show has added former Game of Thrones star Lena Headey, as well as Andrew McCarthy and James Lance.

Wednesday Season 3 officially began filming in Ireland in February 2026. It is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2027, around the summer or fall seasons. At the end of Wednesday Season 2, Isaac Knight (Own Painter) was ultimately defeated by the Addams family, killed by the Thing. However, after saving Wednesday, Enid remains trapped in her werewolf form, prompting both Wednesday and Uncle Fester embark on a quest to locate her.

As the most-viewed English-language series of all-time, Season 3 will be not only massive in scale, but showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar, alongside executive producer and director Tim Burton, are also assembling a killer cast to star alongside core series regulars Jenna Ortega (Wednesday Addams) and Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair). The new season has already made some big cast announcements. Previously confirmed newcomers include Eva Green (Casino Royale, Penny Dreadful), who will play Morticia’s sister Aunt Ophelia Frump, and Winona Ryder (Stranger Things, Beetlejuice) in an unknown role. Other new cast members include Chris Sarandon (Dog Day Afternoon, The Princess Bride), Noah Taylor (Peaky Blinders, Game Of Thrones), Oscar Morgan (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms), and Kennedy Moyer (Roofman).

Who are the three new cast members in Wednesday Season 3?

Filming on the new episodes is now well underway; it will likely wrap up production around November 2026. In its latest round of casting news, Netflix has announced three big names have entered the fray: Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, and James Lance. All three have joined as guest stars, and we currently do not know who they are playing.

The biggest addition is undoubtedly Lena Headey, who is best known for her portrayal of Cersei Lannister in all 8 episodes of HBO fantasy Game of Thrones. She also headlined Netflix’s 2025 western drama The Abandons, which was ultimately canceled after tepid ratings.

Andrew McCarthy is another well-established actor joining the new season, known for his roles in St. Elmo’s Fire and Brats. Viewers may also remember his performance as Blane in Pretty in Pink (1986).

Lastly, James Lance (The Salt Path) has joined the season in an undisclosed role. In recent years, Lance has become best known for his portrayal of sports journalist Trent Crimm in AppleTV’s hit drama Ted Lasso
