It’s time to start planning your final binge-watching sessions because Netflix is doing a bit of summer housecleaning. From an early sci-fi co-production to a handful of stand-up comedy specials, here is your complete rundown of every Netflix Original currently scheduled to depart the streamer in July and August 2026.
As we’ve covered extensively over the years, the “Netflix Original” branding doesn’t necessarily mean a show or movie is immune to the chopping block. Netflix often acquires exclusive international streaming rights for titles for a fixed period (usually anywhere between 3 and 10 years). Once those licensing agreements run their course, the titles leave the platform—even if they carry the red “N”.
While Netflix does own much of its library outright, hundreds of exclusively licensed Originals have already been removed. If you want to see everything else leaving the platform over the next few months, you can check out our comprehensive guides for July and August.
Now, let’s take a look at some of the biggest Netflix Originals leaving this summer, followed by the full chronological list of departures.
Highlights: What to Watch Before They Leave
Between (Seasons 1-2)
Leaving Netflix: July 1st
One of Netflix’s earlier co-productions, this Canadian sci-fi drama series is officially departing. The series follows a small town coping with a mysterious disease that wipes out everyone over the age of 21, leaving the younger generation to fend for themselves while under a strict government quarantine.
Chernobyl 1986 (2021)
Note: Only available on Netflix regions outside of the US

In 2019, HBO released one of the best limited series ever made: Chernobyl. It depicted the nuclear power plant disaster and the aftermath in stunning detail, picking up countless awards. Russia was not particularly fond of its representation, so it was set out that a Russian equivalent would be released, and Netflix acquired the exclusive streaming rights in many regions, including the UK, but notably not the US.
Danila Kozlovsky created the movie and was among its cast, seeking to paint the story’s heroes in a positive light. It’s not a great movie by any means, and it certainly does airbrush that period of history in true Russian fashion, but it’s an interesting point of view, and given that most Russian titles do not find new streaming homes (for obvious reasons), this is likely your last chance to watch. It leaves Netflix after a five-year stint.
Tallulah (2016)
Leaving Netflix: July 29th
Making its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival before being acquired by Netflix, this emotional dramedy stars Elliot Page and Allison Janney. It follows a young drifter who impulsively kidnaps a baby from a negligent mother and pretends the child is her own, leading to an unexpected bond with her ex-boyfriend’s mother.
Better Than Us (Season 1)
Leaving Netflix: August 16th

Another hit Russian sci-fi series is making its exit in mid-August. Set in a near-future where androids serve the population in various capacities, the show explores what happens when a cutting-edge empathy-capable android goes rogue and is acquired by a fractured family. Sadly, season 2 never made its way onto Netflix but you can find both elsewhere if you know where to look.
Pinky Malinky (Parts 1-3)
Leaving Netflix: July 17th
Animated removals have been a painful trend lately, and Pinky Malinky is the next on the block. The mockumentary-style series follows a relentlessly positive hot dog navigating the ups and downs of middle school with his two best friends.
