Alfred Hitchcock, one of the most iconic and legendary filmmakers in Hollywood history, will finally have his filmography unlocked and added to the Netflix US library starting June 1, 2025. Iconic films from his collection, such as Vertigo, The Birds, and Rear Window, will soon be available.
Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock is a British film director who is highly regarded as one of the most influential filmmakers in history, often referred to as the ‘Master of Suspense.’ In total, his films earned 45 Academy Award nominations, including six wins; however, despite being nominated for Best Director five times, he never won the award. Arguably, he is one of the most iconic filmmakers of all time to have never won the Best Director Oscar.

Hitchcock is credited with directing 59 films, including short films, propaganda films, and some of the most iconic movies of the 20th Century, such as Psycho, Rear Window, The Man Who Knew Too Much, Vertigo, Shadow of a Doubt, Rebecca, and Strangers on a Train.
Which Alfred Hitchcock Movies are coming to Netflix?
Starting on June 1st, 2025, Netflix has confirmed the following Alfred Hitchcock movies are coming:
- Vertigo (1958) – A romance thriller starring James Stewart as former San Francisco cop John ‘Scottie’ Ferguson, who wrestles with his demons as he becomes obsessed with a hauntingly beautiful woman that he has been hired to follow; she may well be disturbed herself.
- Rear Window (1954) – Thriller starring James Stewart as L.B. Jeffries, a photographer who, after breaking his leg, decides to pass the time by watching his neighbors from the window, but begins to suspect that one of them could be a murderer.
- Frenzy (1972) – Thriller starring Jon Finch as former RAF squadron leader Richard Blaney, who becomes the prime suspect in a serial murder case where the killer, known as the “Necktie Murderer,” is strangling women with neckties around London.
- The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956) – Crime drama starring James Stewart as Dr. Benjamin McKenna, and Doris Day as Josephine Conway McKenna, a former singer who, while vacationing in Morocco, is embroiled in a murder plot when a dying friend warns them that a foreign statesman will be assassinated.
- Family Plot (1976) – Black comedy thriller starring Barbara Harris as Blanche Tyler, a fake medium, and Bruce Dern as George Lumley, her boyfriend, who, after being hired by a millionaire and tasked with finding her heir and nephew, only to get themselves into trouble with a pair of serial kidnappers.
- The Birds (1963) – Horror starring Jessica Tandy as Lydia Brenner, a wealthy socialite from San Francisco who follows her potential boyfriend to a Northern Californian town where a bizarre phenomenon sees the local birds attacking the people of the small town.
More films from his collection are also expected to arrive on Netflix. However, judging by the language used by Netflix, not all films will be available from June 1st, and additional movies will be added throughout June 2025.

Other films inspired by his work are also set to be included in the collection, including Jordan Peele’s Us (2019) and Zach Cregger’s Barbarian (2022).

Netflix has also confirmed that Sacha Gervasi’s biographical drama, starring Anthony Hopkins as the iconic filmmaker, will be making its way to the streaming service.
