The Colombian series Fake Profile (Perfil falso in Spanish) will be returning for a third season at Netflix with the caveat that it will be the last. The news doesn’t come as a massive surprise given the drop in viewership. Production is expected to have already concluded.

First released in the Summer of 2023 and quickly renewed for a second season, which was released under the name Killer Match, the series from Colombia has been one of the most successful from the region, garnering viewership from all over the world. Headlined by Carolina Miranda and Rodolfo Salas, the series initially depicted the too-good-to-be-true romance between Camila and her Prince Charming, whom she meets through a dating app.

Confirmed earlier today, Deadline revealed the renewal as part of a Colombian slate reveal. It also confirmed our earlier reporting that Eva Lasting will be returning for a final season. To their credit, the confirmation of the final season of Fake Profile comes months after The Cinemaholic reported that a third season was a go earlier this year.

They noted that season 3 “starts filming in Colombia on May 15 and concludes on July 15, 2025,” adding, “Pablo Illanes is anticipated to return as the showrunner.” Given that production schedule, it’s highly likely that we may see the third and final season perhaps later this year or at worst, early in 2026.

What can you expect from the final season? Netflix has provided a synopsis of what’s on the way:

“In the thrilling third season of Fake Profile, what begins as a seemingly idyllic honeymoon getaway to an exotic paradise quickly spirals into a web of secrets and betrayal. Camila and Miguel’s newfound friendship with a mysterious millionaire couple unravels dark family ties and hidden identities. Meanwhile, Ángela is released from prison with a vengeful plan to dismantle Camila’s life, and a shadowy killer sets their sights on the dancers of Labios de Oro. Can love survive when deception is the ultimate game?”

Final Season Fake Profile

As mentioned, Fake Profile fell out of favor with its second season in terms of viewership. Season 1 put in an impressive performance charting for six weeks in the top 10s before dropping out, while season 2 only managed 4 weeks, but perhaps more importantly, suffered a 55% drop in viewership.

You can see the big fall in viewership in the chart below:

Fake Profile is produced by TIS Productions with Klitch López and Camilo Vega as directors.
