Eva Lasting, Netflix’s longest-running and first-ever Colombian series (known as La primera vez in Spanish), will be keeping its accolade for a little longer with confirmation of a fourth season being in the works.
Season 3 was renewed in August 2024, with all 10 episodes debuting on Netflix at the beginning of June 2025. However, the season 4 renewal of Eva Lasting has not been directly announced by Netflix’s social media, to the best of our knowledge. The news has instead been confirmed by numerous local outlets and the cast during the premiere event.
According to Bloomberg Linea, during its reporting from the premiere, they wrote (translated into English), “as during the third season premiere, it was announced that the fourth season will soon be arriving on the platform. A release date was not specified.” Another interview and feature article on the show from El Tiempo also confirms a fourth season is in the works.
Furthermore, the cast spoke to the hosts on Noticias Caracol confirmed that the show isn’t over either. In a clip posted on the fan account La Primera Vez Serie, it was stated, “We [can] exclusively tell you that this story doesn’t end with the third season,” going on to confirm a fourth season with a preview of a clip from what’s to come.
In season 3, 1977 is drawing to a close, and chaos reigns at José María School following Quiñones’s disastrous leadership. Amid rising social unrest across the country, Eva, Granados, Castro, Salcedo, and Pabón confront the defining moments of their final school year—and the uncertain road beyond. With the ICFES behind them, military service looming, and university choices on the horizon, they each face the consequences of growing up. As Eva and Granados’s love story takes an unexpected turn, the group must navigate heartbreak, hope, and hard choices in a bittersweet farewell to youth and friendship.
As with prior seasons, the show is a runaway success in Colombia, having now spent nearly a whole month in the top 10 there since its release. As we’ve previously documented, spending a month in your own country’s top 10 list is often key to securing a renewal for international Netflix shows. Season 3, unlike the prior two seasons, however, did not feature in the global top 10s at all on this outing. Season 1 picked up 1.4M views in its first week before dropping out, and season 2 pulled in 900K views before dropping out upon its launch, too. That said, season 3 has spent 4 weeks in the Colombian top 10, 2 in Ecuador and Guatemala and 1 in Costa Rica and Honduras.
