KPop Demon Hunters has been breaking records left, right, and centre since it debuted on Netflix on June 20. The film is mere weeks away from becoming Netflix’s most-watched film ever, and has already made its way to number 1 on the US Billboard Charts. In celebration of the film’s success, Netflix will be showing screeners of KPop Demon Hunters in select theatres for a limited time only in August 2025 in the United States, Canada, and now the United Kingdom.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, KPop Demon Hunters is the biggest film in the world right now. Since its release, KPop Demon Hunters has dominated the global top ten on Netflix, amassing tens of millions of views weekly and on its way to becoming Netflix’s most successful and watched movie ever. The film is co-directed by Maggie King and Chris Appelhans, and features the incredible vocal talent of K-pop group Twice members Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami.

The film has been watched over 184 million times on Netflix, and within a few short weeks, it is likely to overtake Red Notice, which has held the record for most-watched Netflix Original film since 2021.

Fans have been head over heels for the music of KPop Demon Hunters since its release, and arguably, the music is one of the biggest reasons why KPop Demon Hunters is one of the biggest films in the world right now.

In particular, the song Golden is the first K-pop song ever to reach number one on Billboard Global 200, and the very first girl group since Destiny’s Child to reach number one in the US.

With the film’s unprecedented success on Netflix, the streaming service has announced that between August 23 and August 24, a sing-along version of the film will be shown in select theatres in the United States. But you’d better act fast, as fans are already beginning to snap up tickets!

Netflix has a dedicated website you can use to find locations and times for the KPop Demon Hunters, but as we covered on Monday, it’s showing across the country, including in most major markets with Alamo Drafthouse, Cinemark, Marcus, and Regal Cinemas all carrying the film on August 23rd and August 24th.

UK Cinemas To Also Carry The Movie

While yesterday’s official announcement only covered US and Canadian screenings, today, Netflix confirmed to UK press that select cinemas across the UK will also carry the movie for two days, aligning with the bank holiday weekend on August 23rd and August 24th.

Most Vue, Showcase, and The Light cinemas are carrying the movie for four dates over the weekend. We weren’t able to find any Odeon, Cineworld or Empire cinemas carrying the movie. You can see the complete UK cinema list here

Will Netflix provide more screenings for the film?

This will entirely depend on how successful the screenings are on the 23rd and 24th of August. If it proves to be an incredible success, then there’s a chance that Netflix will arrange more screenings for KPop Demon Hunters. However, nothing is confirmed as of yet, and we await more updates.
