In the far reaches of space, a trader, Lydia Martinez aka Spider Rose, a grieving widow, acquires an adorable new pet that helps her overcome the death of her husband. But when her husband’s killer targets her home, she must somehow defend it and her new companion.
Ending Explained
Spider Rose had lost herself after the death of her husband at the hands of Jade Prime. However, thanks to the arrival of Little Nose for Profits, she had begun to find herself once more, becoming an increasingly happier person as she bonded more and more with her new companion.
That happiness was short-lived as Jade Prime and his clones arrived to kill Spider-Rose. Despite destroying the reactor and most of the base, Spider Rose has one trick up her sleeve and can send a rocket with a flesh-eating gas into Jade’s ship. However, Jade Prime survived, albeit injured, and was determined to assassinate Spider Rose. An ambush from Spider-Rose results in a fight where she can stab Jade Prime with one of the gas-filled rockets, finally killing him. Unfortuanately, this results in the glass being destroyed, and the vacuum of space almost sucks up Spider-Rose and Little Nose for Profits. The pair can get away, shutting an air-tight door behind them successfully.
Sadly, with no food available, oxygen running out, and the traders days or even weeks away from being able to rescue them, Spider Rose gives her little friend a heartfelt goodbye and appreciation for his company, before permitting him to eat her.
The traders return an unknown amount of time later, collecting the jewel and Little Nose for Profits, who is undergoing another pupal stage. Upon hatching, Little Nose for Profits now has the appearance of Spider Rose, with the trader making a comment, “cute” on how adorable the pet looks.
Why did Little Nose for Profits eat Spider Rose?
With most of her home destroyed, most of the resources and food would have also perished. Even though the traders would be returning soon, it would take far too long to be rescued. Knowing this, Spider Rose permitted Little Nose for Profits to eat her.
Why does Little Nose for Profits look like Spider Rose?
It was already established earlier in the episode that Little Nose for Profits had bundles of different DNA. Thanks to chrysalis, once it entered the pupal stage, it would change its appearance to reflect its owner better. So, after eating Spider Rose, this meant that Little Nose for Profits absorbed her DNA, and thanks to undergoing another pupal stage, it looked like her.
Will Little Nose for Profits transform again?
Most likely, now that Little Nose for Profits has returned to the traders, he will eventually undergo another transformation and return to looking similar to how he did when he was traded to Spider Rose. However, we would expect him to retain some of the appearance he has picked up from the DNA of his former owner.
