The brand new and exciting Taiwanese thriller, The Resurrected, stars Shu Qi and Angelica Lee as two mothers on a desperate quest for vengeance. Coming to Netflix exclusively in October 2025. Here’s everything we know so far.

The Resurrected is an upcoming Taiwanese Netflix Original thriller series directed by Leste Chen and Hsu Chao-jen. The series was written by the team of Shen Yang, Yi Shuai-jie, and Luo Hsiao-rui. The series is produced by Bernard T. K. Yang and Emma Duan.


When is The Resurrected coming to Netflix?

Netflix has confirmed that The Resurrected will premiere on the streaming service on October 9, 2025.


What is the plot of The Resurrected

Netflix has released a synopsis for the series:

“Set in the fictional city of Benkha, The Resurrected centers on two mothers united by hatred, seeking revenge for their daughters caught in a fraud and kidnapping case. With help from a mysterious goddess, they revive the deceased ringleader of the fraud scheme to punish him. Yet, despite inflicting relentless pain, their fury remains unquenched. As dark secrets unravel, their alliance is tested, forcing them to confront the limits of justice and their own morality.”

Who are the cast members of The Resurrected?

Shu Qi plays Wang Hui Chun. She has yet to star in a Netflix Original series or film, and will make her debut in The Resurrected. She is most well-known for starring in Chinese films such as If You Are the One 3, Good Autumn Mommy, and The Island.

The actress shared her excitement about the series with Netflix:

“I’m really looking forward to it! When I first received the script, I felt it was a bold and groundbreaking story, not just for me as an actress, but also for Chinese-language series in general. I’ve already seen some rough cuts during dubbing, but when I saw the teaser, I still went, ‘Wow!’”

Angelica Lee, aka Sinje Lee, plays Chao Ching. Another cast member yet to star in a Netflix project, she is most well known for starring in films such as The Thieves, Mini, and Grit.

“I’ve never encountered a female-driven story that’s so intense, a little wild, and deeply emotional. It was such a thrill to be a part of it, and of course, I’m even more excited for the day we get to share it with audiences around the world.”

Fu Meng Bo plays Chang Shih Kai. The actor recently starred in a guest role in the Taiwanese drama I Am Married… But. He also starred in films that can be seen on Netflix, such as The Abandoned and I Missed You.

The actor also shared a statement:

“The storyline is both fantastical and thrilling, and the moral conflicts between the characters are absolutely gripping.”
