Netflix has unveiled a new eight-part documentary series detailing various disasters over the past few decades. The series will cover concert disasters, political disasters, and the big meme that was storming Area 51. It will be released weekly beginning in June 2025, with the season finale due out on July 29th.
This is another expansion in Netflix’s documentary titles that are part of a collection/brand, for lack of a better phrase. You may recall that in 2020, Netflix released a three-part documentary series, Trainwreck: Woodstock ’99, which performed well for the streamer. The series looked into the disaster of the concert that led to a riot in a muddy field. This new series serves as a follow-up to that. Other Netflix documentary collections include American Murder, Conversations with a Killer, Untold, and Crime Scene.
Three production companies are involved with the new docu-series, including RAW and BBH (the companies behind Woodstock ’99) who are behind 7 of the 8 episodes with one episode by Passion Pictures (Kill List: Hunted by Putin’s Spies, FIFA Uncovered).
