Filming is set to begin in Summer 2025 on Netflix’s newest French film, Quasimodo. It will star actor Vincent Cassel, and the film is a reimagining of the life of the man who inspired the story of the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Quasimodo is an upcoming French Netflix Original film directed by Jean-Francois Richet and written by Eric Besnard. The film is produced by Radar Films with Clément Miserez and Matthieu Warter as producers.


What is the plot of Quasimodo?

A logline has been provided for Quasimodo:

“Set in Paris on the eve of the July Revolution (1830), this film reimagines the life of the man said to have inspired Victor Hugo’s iconic character, Quasimodo. As the cholera epidemic spreads through the city, he’s caught between political turmoil and an impossible love.”


Who are the cast members of Quasimodo?

Vincent Cassel has been confirmed to lead the film. In English cinema, he is arguably most well-known for his role as Thomas Leroy in Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan, and as François Toulour in Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen. In French cinema, he is best known for his portrayal of Jacques Mesrine in the Mesrine films.
