Upcoming Netflix Movie Series From Uk

It’s hard to argue that Netflix UK hasn’t had a a stunning streak over the last few years. From The Gentlemen to Baby Reindeer in 2024 and Adolescence and Dept. Q in 2025, they’ve been on it. 2026 has been another busy start with titles like The Witness, Legends and Run Away being particular highlights but what’s to come throughout the remainder of 2026, into 2027 and beyond?

As we’ve covered when looking at the British slate of new titles from Netflix, lines can get a bit blurry about what counts as a UK/US show. Bridgerton, for example, is filmed in the UK and features a predominantly British cast, yet it’s still counted as a US show. There are a few other examples, such as the reality series for Squid Game (which will return for season 3), but that’s the most prominent. Kennedy is a good example for the upcoming slate too. It was primarily shot in the UK but is technically under the US slate.

In alphabetical order, here’s what new movies and series from the UK are on the way throughout the remainder of this year and into the future:

Alley Cats (Season 1)

Coming to Netflix on August 7th, 2026

Alley Cats Netflix Series Ricky Gervais

Although comedian and creator Ricky Gervais has been active with Netflix with stand-up specials, his scripted output has been all quiet since the end of After Life. Thankfully, the long wait will come to an end this summer with the arrival of Alley Cats. The new adult animated series will see Gervais reunite with many of his former After Life stars for a comedy about foul-mouthed feral cats from all walks of society navigating a brutal human world. Netflix dropped the official trailer in late June, confirming the August premiere and showcased a couple of episodes at Annecy. If you love Ricky Gervais, this should be on your watch list.

At Home with the Furys (Season 3)

Coming Soon

Tyson Fury At Home With The Furys Season 2 Netflix Renewal Preview

It’s was long rumored that the reality series featuring British boxer Tyson Fury would return for a second outing on Netflix, and we finally got that confirmation in 2025 with season 2 dropping in full earlier this year. Of course, Netflix is also working on a solo documentary on the fighter in addition to the news that a third season of the reality series is also on the way although when it’ll drop on our screens is unclear.

Bad Bridgets

Currently in Production, Expected in 2027

Bad Bridgets New Cast Netflix Movie

Cast for Bad Bridgets

If a 19th-century period crime thriller produced by Margot Robbie sounds like a good time, you’ll want to keep a close eye on Bad Bridgets. Based on the fascinating historical book by Elaine Farrell and Leanne McCormick, the film follows a young Irish woman whose mysterious ticket to escape leads her to 1800s New York. However, rather than a quiet new life, she finds herself pulled into the unruly, chaotic, and criminal underworld of the “Bridgets”—a real-life moniker given to notorious Irish emigrant women of the era.

Directed and written by Rich Peppiatt, the project boasts an absolutely stacked ensemble cast. While Daisy Edgar-Jones was previously attached to the project, the movie will now be led by Emilia Jones (CODA) and Alison Oliver (Saltburn). They are joined by a powerhouse roster of talent including Colin Farrell, Steve Coogan, Domhnall Gleeson, Charlie Heaton, Himesh Patel, Niamh Algar, and Simone Kirby.

Backed by LuckyChap Entertainment, Coup d’état Films, and Northern Ireland Screen, cameras officially started rolling earlier this month across Ireland and Northern Ireland. With production scheduled to run through early September 2026, we anticipate this thrilling literary adaptation will make its way to our screens sometime in 2027.

Black Doves (Season 2)

Confirmed for Winter 2026 Release

Black Doves Season 2 Everything We Know

If you loved spending last Christmas wrapped up in Keira Knightley’s murderous little spy family, you’re in luck. Black Doves is officially returning to stuff our stockings with a second season this Winter. In fact, Netflix was so confident in the high-octane thriller that they greenlit Season 2 months before the first season even premiered back in 2024.

This time around, Helen (Knightley) is still secretly betraying her nation’s secrets for the shadowy Black Doves organization. However, the stakes are higher than ever as her husband Wallace (Andrew Buchan) prepares to become Prime Minister. Meanwhile, her enigmatic handler Mrs. Reed (Sarah Lancashire) finds herself caught in a ruthless plot to undermine her standing, forcing Helen to reunite with her assassin best friend Sam (Ben Whishaw), who has recently been reduced to low-rate hits and lonely drinks in Soho bars.

Creator Joe Barton returns to helm the sophomore outing, bringing back the show’s explosive wit alongside a slew of heavy-hitting new cast members. Neve Campbell (Scream) joins the cast as Cecile Mason, alongside Ambika Mod (One Day), Sam Riley (Firebrand), and Babou Ceesay (Alien: Earth). With production wrapping up in London, we can expect Downing Street to get very messy when the series returns later this year.

Black Mirror (Season 8)

In Development, Expected in 2027 or 2028

Black Mirror Broke Netflix

Black Mirror

If Black Mirror has taught us anything, it’s that tech-fueled dystopia never stays dead for long. Following the massive success of Season 7 in April 2025—which earned the show its first Golden Globe nominations for stars like Rashida Jones and Paul Giamatti—Netflix has officially greenlit an eighth season of the mind-bending anthology.

Creator Charlie Brooker confirmed the news earlier this year, teasing: “I can confirm that Black Mirror will return, just in time for reality to catch up with it. That chunk of my brain has already been activated and is whirring away.”

While there have been some behind-the-scenes shakeups recently with Brooker and co-creator Annabel Jones departing their Broke & Bones production banner, Netflix remains entirely committed to the show. Production was originaly due to begin in Summer 2026, likely because Brooker is currently busy wrapping up his the new crime thriller, Project Codename, which we’ll feature below. However, we can expect another star-studded cast and a fresh batch of dark, satirical, and unnerving technological dread to hit our screens sometime in late 2027 or 2028.

Dept. Q (Season 2)

In Production

Dept Q Season 2 Start Of Production Image

One of our personal favorites from 2025 was the crime mystery series Dept. Q, headlined by Matthew Goode. It’s quintessentially British in tone and featured a riveting plotline that felt incredibly satisfying by the time you got to the end. Not every story thread was closed, however, and thankfully, Netflix opted to renew the series. As of late June 2026, production is officially underway back in Edinburgh, with Netflix announcing a slew of new cast members joining DCI Carl Morck’s glorious band of misfits for a complex new mystery. Production is expected to continue through the end of 2026 so don’t expect this one to return until at least mid-2027.

Grown Ups

May Release in 2026

Cast Grid For Grown Ups Netflix

Grown Ups is an eight-part family drama set in South County Dublin, following the Casey family, a loud, loyal, and complicated clan whose lives are thrown into turmoil when their so-called “good son” dies unexpectedly. The loss forces everyone to confront old resentments, tangled relationships, and the messy realities of adulthood, even as they cling to love and humor to keep going. Created by Samantha Strauss from Marian Keyes’s bestselling novel and produced by See-Saw Films, the ensemble cast includes Aisling Bea, Sinéad Cusack, Adrian Dunbar, Sarah Greene, Robert Sheehan, and Barry Ward, with production having wrapped in February. No word if this is a 2026 release.

Heartstopper: Forever

Coming to Netflix on July 17th, 2026

Heartstopper Forever Netflix Movie

The beloved coming-of-age romance returns for its ultimate farewell, serving as a feature-length finale to the series. With Nick preparing to leave for university and Charlie finding new independence at Truham, the anxiety of a potential long-distance relationship threatens to fracture their inseparable bond. As doubts creep in, the couple is forced to confront a question familiar to many high school sweethearts: can a first love survive the distance of the real world?
Creator Alice Oseman returns to pen the script, and stars Kit Connor and Joe Locke have stepped up as Executive Producers for this chapter. Adding to the emotional goodbye, Netflix is also dropping a special behind-the-scenes documentary titled Heartstopper: Ending on a Hi just one week later on July 24th, celebrating the show’s massive legacy.

House of Guinness (Season 2)

In Pre-Production, Filming Expected in Early 2027

House Of Guinness Renewed For Season 2 At Netflix

Picture: Netflix

After delivering a knockout mix of scandal, politics, and sibling rivalry in post-Benjamin-Guinness Dublin last September, Steven Knight’s sweeping, Succession-style period drama is officially coming back for a second round. Following months of nail-biting silence after that shocking Season 1 cliffhanger (we still need to know who caught Patrick Cochrane’s bullet!), has pulled the trigger on a future outing although yet has to formally announce it themselves.

If you loved the first season’s blend of dark family secrets and Irish history, there’s plenty more where that came from. We can expect heavy hitters like Anthony Boyle, Louis Partridge, Emily Fairn, and Fionn O’Shea to return to navigate the escalating Fenian threat and the ongoing battle to control the legendary brewing empire.
Creator Steven Knight is a very busy man these days, and production on House of Guinness Season 2 is currently scheduled to kick off in early 2027, right after Knight wraps up his commitments to the new Peaky Blinders series. Given the timeline, we probably won’t see the Guinness siblings back on our screens until late 2027 or early 2028.

How To Kill Your Family

Expected to Start Production in Fall 2026

Anya Taylor Joy How To Kill Your Family

Anya Taylor-Joy leads this new planned series as Grace Bernard, the forgotten illegitimate daughter of ruthless billionaire Simon Artemis. After her dying mother’s pleas for help are coldly rejected by her absentee father, Grace transforms her grief into a meticulous and deadly purpose: killing off her estranged extended family one by one to clear her path to the inheritance she believes is hers.

Adapted from Bella Mackie’s best-selling novel, the series comes from the producers of Killing Eve and writer Emma Moran. Production is heavily suggested to kick off its London shoot towards the Fall although months keep shifting with September once mentioned although it could now be October.

Mourinho (Limited Series)

Coming to Netflix on August 11th, 2026

First Look Mourinho Series

Love him or hate him, no career in football has generated more masterstrokes, headlines, or contradictions than that of the “Special One.” Following in the highly successful footsteps of the Beckham docuseries, Netflix is turning its lens to José Mourinho for a massive three-part event arriving just ahead of the new football season.

Filmed over two years, the series charts his rise to becoming one of the sport’s most outspoken and trophy-laden managers, picking up 20 years on from his shocking Champions League glory with FC Porto. Produced by double Academy Award-winner John Battsek (Beckham) and directed by Joe Pearlman (Robbie Williams), the doc features exclusive access to Mourinho himself, alongside candid new interviews with a staggering lineup of footballing legends, including Sir Alex Ferguson, John Terry, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Frank Lampard, Eden Hazard, and Didier Drogba.

Living the Dream (Season 1)

In Production

Living The Dream First Look Netflix Animated Series

From BAFTA-nominated creator George Gendi and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe comes a sharp new workplace satire for the adult animation block. The series centers on Des and Ray, two Londoners who are convinced they are destined for greatness but are currently stuck in the mundanity of reality. Instead of living the high life, they are grinding away in the social media department of “Ecofood,” a self-righteous corporate entity where the pay is low and the virtue-signaling is high.

With a voice cast featuring heavy hitters like Julia Davis (Sally4ever) and Ambika Mod (One Day), plus animation from Boulder Media, this 8-episode series looks to be a cheeky, relatable send-up of “making it” in the gig economy. We’ve got a bunch more on this one in our full Annecy preview.

Peaky 1954 (Continuation Series)

Film released on March 20th, 2026, with new seasons in development

New Peaky Blinders Series

Our big return to the world of Peaky Blinders finally arrived globally on Netflix this past March with The Immortal Man. Further to the big new movie, Netflix is also working with the BBC on two additional new series that’ll serve as a follow-up to the movie with new casts expected to join the fray. The official description, courtesy of the BBC, reads, “Britain, 1953. After being heavily bombed in WWII, Birmingham is building a better future out of concrete and steel. In a new era of Steven Knight’s Peaky Blinders, the race to own Birmingham’s massive reconstruction project becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions. This is a city of unprecedented opportunity and danger: with the Shelby family right at its blood-soaked heart.”

Pride and Prejudice

Expected in Late 2026

First Look Pride And Prejudice Netflix Adaptation

Picture: Netflix

Love a British period drama? Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is probably already on your all-time favorites list along with its various adaptations. Adding to that long list of prior adaptations, Netflix is set to release a six-part adaptation following Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy as they clash, misunderstand each other, and gradually fall in love while navigating family pressures, social expectations, and their own stubborn pride.

Developed by Dolly Alderton and produced by Lookout Point, the series centers on the Bennet sisters as they search for happiness and security in a world where reputation and marriage can determine a woman’s future. Emma Corrin leads the cast as Elizabeth Bennet, with Jack Lowden as Mr. Darcy and Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennet, filming in and around London up until late November 2025.

Project Codename / Untitled Al Campbell Series

In Production, Expected In 2026

Paddy Considine. Manchester. September 8Th, 2025

PIX BY MARK CAMPBELL/MCPIX

A lot of secrecy surrounds this new British crime thriller from Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker, alongside a slew of other writers, and Al Campbell helming behind the camera. The description paints the following picture: “A gritty detective from the bleak Northern town of Bleakford heads to London, pursuing a ritualistic murderer in a desperate race to stop their killing spree.”

Beyond that, we know it’s been filming in Northern England throughout much of the second half of 2025 and that Lena Headey, Paddy Considine, and Georgina Campbell are amongst the confirmed cast. Could there be a few twists and turns before this project comes out? We’ll have to wait and see.

Supacell (Season 2)

In Post-Production

Supacell Season 2 Production Start Delayed

It took a bit longer than most would’ve liked, but the excellent and highly lauded superhero series Supacell officially wrapped its massive Season 2 shoot in June 2026. Creator Rapman confirmed the team is now deep in post-production, weaving together the show’s intricate VFX. While that doesn’t mean it’ll definitively hit this year, our fingers and toes are crossed for a late 2026 or early 2027 drop.

The Bombing of Pan Am 103 (Limited Series)

Coming to Netflix on July 30th, 2026

The Bombing Of Pan Am Sets Netflix Release Date

If you missed this gripping six-part historical drama when it first aired on the BBC back in May 2025, you’ll finally be able to catch it globally on Netflix at the end of this month. Co-produced by the BBC and Netflix, The Bombing of Pan Am 103 (previously simply titled Lockerbie) is a tense, emotional dramatization of the deadliest act of terrorism ever committed on British soil.

On December 21, 1988, Pan Am Flight 103 exploded over the small Scottish town of Lockerbie, claiming the lives of 270 people. The series tracks the unprecedented joint investigation between Scottish police and US law enforcement as they worked tirelessly to uncover those responsible, while also highlighting the remarkable resilience of the victims’ families and their relentless fight for answers and accountability.

Showrunner Jonathan Lee and director Michael Keillor have assembled an incredibly stacked transatlantic cast for this one[3]. Connor Swindells (Sex Education) leads the ensemble alongside Patrick J. Adams (Suits), Merritt Wever (Unbelievable), Peter Mullan (Ozark), Eddie Marsan (The Gentlemen), and Kevin McKidd (Grey’s Anatomy). You won’t want to miss this powerful limited series when it drops on July 30th.

The Boys From Brazil

In Production

The Boys From Brazil Netflix Series A Go At Netflix Cast Set

The Crown creator Peter Morgan reunites with executive producer Suzanne Mackie for a bold, high-prestige reimagining of Ira Levin’s classic conspiracy thriller. This five-part limited series spans three decades—from the ashes of WWII to the turbulent 1970s—centering on Yakov Liebermann (Jeremy Strong), a Holocaust survivor and Nazi hunter consumed by a lifelong quest for justice. His mission takes a terrifying turn when he discovers that Dr. Johann-Friedrich Meinhardt (August Diehl), a sadistic scientist thought to be dead, is actually alive in Brazil and orchestrating a diabolical plan to ignite a Fourth Reich.

The series boasts a staggering ensemble cast, with Daniel Brühl and Gillian Anderson joining the ranks as key players in this international game of cat and mouse. Directed by Alex Gabassi (Black Doves), the show is described as part historical thriller and part moral reckoning, asking who will fight to keep history’s darkest memories alive when the world chooses to forget. With filming set to commence across Europe, this promises to be one of Netflix’s most significant upcoming drama events.

The Undertow (Season 1)

Expected in Late 2026

The Undertow Cast Grid

Here’s one that’s gone a little MIA! If you’re drawn to dark thrillers with a Nordic edge, this upcoming UK-set adaptation needs to be on your radar. Inspired by the hit Norwegian series Twin, The Undertow is a gripping crime noir that promises rugged Highland backdrops, tangled identities, and a dangerous web of secrets.

Jamie Dornan (The Tourist, The Fall) leads the highly anticipated series in a dual role as identical twins, Adam and Lee. The story centers on Nicola (Mackenzie Davis), a woman suffocating in a loveless marriage to Adam. Her life is thrown into chaos when Adam’s estranged twin brother, Lee—who also happens to be her former flame—crashes back into her life. Following a split-second decision and a terrible accident, Nicola and Lee are forced together to protect her children, struggling to maintain a lie while living on borrowed time.

With production wrapped across the Scottish Highlands, this moody, atmospheric thriller is currently deep into post-production and is expected to be one of Netflix’s biggest domestic hits when it finally drops later this year or early next.

The Gentlemen (Season 2)

Coming to Netflix on September 3rd, 2026

The Gentlemen Season 2 Rounds Out Cast

Picture: Netflix

As we’ve been tracking, The Gentlemen is confirmed to come back bigger and better than the first season on September 3rd, 2026! [11] Guy Ritchie returns alongside his star-studded cast (Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings). Judging by the teaser trailer that just dropped this July, the Horniman empire is expanding its reach into Italy to tangle with the mafia. It’s shaping up to be an explosive return.

The Lords’ Day (Season 1)

In Post-Production, Expected in 2027

Damson Idris The Lords Day

If you fancy yourself an armchair intelligence agent, this upcoming political action-thriller is going to be right up your alley. Based on the 2007 novel by Michael Dobbs (the author behind House of Cards), The Lords’ Day is a new six-part hostage thriller produced by Bad Wolf (Doctor Who, His Dark Materials).

The series kicks off on the State Opening of Parliament, where the UK government is taken hostage and the Palace of Westminster becomes enemy territory. Luckily, British ex-spy Harry Jones happens to be locked inside the iconic building. Amidst the escalating siege, Harry must use his espionage prowess and training in a desperate fight for survival to free the hostages, though not everyone will make it out alive.

Damson Idris (Snowfall, F1) leads the series as Harry Jones and also serves as an executive producer. Rounding out the stellar ensemble cast announced earlier this Summer are Harry Lawtey (Industry), Timothy Spall (The Sixth Commandment), Arsema Thomas (Queen Charlotte), Gemma Whelan (Game of Thrones), and Sophie Willan (Alma’s Not Normal).

With head writers Jonathan Brackley and Sam Vincent (Humans) at the helm and Ben Chanan directing, production officially wrapped up in the UK in early Q3 2026. Now moving deep into post-production, we’re expecting this highly anticipated nail-biter to hit our screens sometime in 2027.

The Witcher (Season 5)

Expected to Return in Late 2026

The Witcher Season 5 Adds 25 To Cast

This is another one that technically falls on the blurred line between a British and a US show, but given the final season was filmed heavily in the UK throughout much of the production, we’re going to include it anyway. What can be said about The Witcher at this point? Netflix has officially confirmed that Season 5 will act as the epic final chapter. With Liam Hemsworth stepping in to finish out Geralt’s journey alongside Ciri and Yennefer, the show is deep into post-production and mapping towards a late 2026 release.

The Woods (Limited Series)

In Production, Expected in 2027

The Woods Netflix Harlan Coben Series

You can never have too many Harlan Coben adaptations, right? Expanding Netflix’s massive, ongoing partnership with the thriller author, The Woods is getting the British limited series treatment. While the novel was previously adapted into a Polish Netflix series back in 2020, regular Coben collaborators Quay Street Productions and writer Danny Brocklehurst are now putting a UK spin on the gripping mystery with some familiar faces.

The eight-part thriller follows Paul ‘Cope’ Copeland (Tom Bateman), a top barrister and devoted single father whose life was torn apart twenty years ago when his sister, Camille, vanished from a summer camp. But when the body of a man supposedly murdered alongside Camille turns up two decades later, Cope becomes convinced his sister might have made it out of the woods alive. As he begins a desperate search for the truth, he unearths years of lies, cover-ups, and long-buried family secrets that threaten to destroy the life he has built.

The ensemble cast features a very welcome return to the Coben-verse for Michelle Keegan (Fool Me Once) as Lucy Silverfield. Joining Bateman and Keegan are James Buckley (The Inbetweeners), Mandeep Dhillon (After Life), Pearce Quigley (The Gentlemen), and Rade Serbedzija (Slow Horses). Currently in pre-production and preparing to shoot in Manchester, we expect this mystery to unravel on our screens sometime in 2027.

These are all the confirmed projects from Netflix UK. There have also been plenty of trade reports about titles in active development, but until we hear they’re greenlit, we won’t be including them on this list. We’ll have more as and when we get it!
