Welcome along to your preview of what’s coming up on Netflix in the US over the next seven days. There are three big new Netflix Original movies touching down this week in addition to a canceled NBC series, a new teen series from France, and new seasons of some licensed favorites. Here’s your preview for what’s coming to Netflix between August 11th and August 17th.
While we’ll cover all the new arrivals below, we’d recommend also watching or finishing up bingeing through any remaining titles that might be leaving Netflix. It’s your last few days to watch the Dwayne Johnson HBO series Ballers before it departs on Friday. Also, don’t forget that most of the AMC titles are set to leave next week, so watch those while you can.
What to Watch on Netflix This Week
Fixed (2025)
Coming to Netflix: Wednesday
Netflix animation is officially on a hot streak, and hopefully continuing that very streak is a new, very R-rated comedy that Netflix rescued after distribution was dropped last year. Featuring an all-star cast and from legendary animator Genndy Tartakovsky, the film sees you following Bull, your average good dog who’s got a weapon he’s not afraid to use. Much like many other dogs in the dog park, though, he finds out his manhood is soon to be stripped, leaving him just 24 hours to live the good life.
Because we got to watch the movie exceptionally early at Annecy Film Festival 2025, we’re pleased to report that this film is absolutely worth your time. I personally loved it with plenty of gags throughout, keeping me entertained. You can read our own Andrew Morgan’s review here, in which he concluded, “A lot of ingredients to savor – hand-drawn 2D animation, solid work from comedic voices we love, and some leftover funny dog observations not used in Strays or Best in Show. However, an unworthy premise, a far too horny vibe, and inconsistent quality of jokes make Fixed a more niche concoction to imbibe.”
Night Always Comes
Coming to Netflix: Friday
Officially kicking off what I deem to be Netflix’s awards run and possibly releasing earlier in the year to cash in on Vanessa Kirby’s rise in the fame charts, thanks to Fantastic 4 releasing, is Night Always Comes, an intense adaptation of the Willy Vlautin novel. Per Netflix, the movie “follows Lynette, a woman who risks everything to secure the house that represents a future for her family. On a dangerous odyssey through a single night, Lynette is forced to confront her dark past in order to finally break free.”
Benjamin Caron is the producer and director of the film, with Kirby starring alongside Jennifer Jason Leigh, Zachary Gottsagen, Stephan James, Julia Fox, Eli Roth, and Randall Park.
Young Millionaires (Season 1) Netflix Original
Coming to Netflix: Wednesday
Abraham Wampler as David in Young Millionaires. Cr : Netflix.
While the third picture in our cover photo above is the Fast and Furious movies, the chances are you’re more than familiar with them, so let’s highlight a new international release coming up this week from France. Blending a mix of Elite and Outer Banks, the new coming-of-age comedy follows multiple childhood friends now facing an impossible task: they can’t cash in their winning lottery ticket because they’re underage. Who can they trust, and what other consequences are there of multiple friends winning 17 million euros? You’ll get to find out!
