Welcome to your comprehensive look ahead at what’s coming to Netflix throughout August 2025. In this post, which we’ll keep updated throughout July and well into August, we’ll be listing all the new arrivals set for Netflix US. 

In addition to the information below, please also familiarize yourself with all the departures scheduled for August 2025. We’re keeping track of everything leaving, in addition to providing a rundown on a few things we think you should watch before it departs


What’s Coming to Netflix on August 1st

  • After the Sunset (2004) – Pierce Brosnan headlines this action comedy about a pair of retired jewel thieves and an FBI Agent playing an elaborate game of cat-and-mouse.

  • American Pie (1999) – Classic comedy starring Jason Biggs and Alyson Hannigan about the coming-of-age story of four friends looking to lose their V-cards. 
  • American Pie 2 (2001) – Sequel with our four friends reuniting at a beach house while at college.
  • Anaconda (1997) – A documentary film crew encounters a massive, deadly snake while filming in the Amazon rainforest. Directed by Luis Llosa, starring Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, and Jon Voight.
  • Clueless (1995) – A wealthy, popular high school student tries to play matchmaker for her friends while navigating her own relationships. Directed by Amy Heckerling, starring Alicia Silverstone, Paul Rudd, and Stacey Dash.
  • Dazed and Confused (1993) – A group of high school students experience their last day of school in 1976, filled with parties, pranks, and life lessons. Directed by Richard Linklater, starring Jason London, Ben Affleck, and Matthew McConaughey.
  • Despicable Me (2010) – A supervillain adopts three girls and begins to question his evil ways, with the help of his mischievous minions. Directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud, starring Steve Carell, Jason Segel, and Russell Brand.
  • Despicable Me 2 (2013) – The now-reformed Gru teams up with the Anti-Villain League to stop a new villain, with the help of his minions. Directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud, starring Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, and Benjamin Bratt.
  • Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) – A group of California teenagers navigate the trials and tribulations of high school life, including love, friendships, and jobs. Directed by Amy Heckerling, starring Sean Penn, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Judge Reinhold.
  • Fire Country (Season 2) – Brand new episodes of the hit CBS drama about the firemen who work year-round in Los Angeles. 
  • Groundhog Day (1993) – A cynical TV weatherman finds himself reliving the same day over and over again in a small town, learning important life lessons. Directed by Harold Ramis, starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell.
  • Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012) – A young man and his stepfather travel to a mysterious island to find his grandfather, facing various adventures along the way. Directed by Brad Peyton, starring Dwayne Johnson, Josh Hutcherson, and Michael Caine.
  • Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008) – A scientist and his nephew embark on a thrilling adventure to the Earth’s core, discovering a mysterious world. Directed by Eric Brevig, starring Brendan Fraser, Josh Hutcherson, and Anita Briem.
  • Jurassic Park (1993) – Scientists clone dinosaurs to create a theme park, but things go awry when the creatures break loose. Directed by Steven Spielberg, starring Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum.

  • My Oxford Year (2025) Netflix Original – Iain Morris directs this new British-infused romantic comedy with Sofia Carson headlining. 

  • Pawn Stars (Season 16) – More deals to be done and experts to be called upon in this long-running reality series. 
  • Perfect Match (Season 3) Netflix Original – Dating reality series returns for its third outing.

  • Scarecrow (2024) – Asian horror about a family who are squabbling over their father’s land during a nine-day funeral ritual, which is disrupted by an evil spirit. 
  • The Departed (2006) – An undercover cop and a mole in the police force try to identify each other while infiltrating an Irish gang in Boston. Directed by Martin Scorsese, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, and Jack Nicholson.
  • The Husbands of Rosario (2018) – A romantic-comedy about the crazy life of a husband and wife living a rather unusual life.
  • The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (2013) – New York teenager Clary Fray learns a secret about herself, which leads her into an adventurous journey. Clary is one of the Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of half-angel warriors who fight demons.
  • The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) – A sequel where a team ventures to a remote island to study dinosaurs in their natural habitat, only to face new dangers. Directed by Steven Spielberg, starring Jeff Goldblum, Julianne Moore, and Pete Postlethwaite.
  • Thirteen (2003) – A 13-year-old girl navigates the complexities of adolescence, struggling with peer pressure and personal identity. Directed by Catherine Hardwicke, starring Holly Hunter, Evan Rachel Wood, and Nikki Reed.
  • Weird Science (1985) – Two high school nerds create the perfect woman using a computer, leading to chaotic and funny results. Directed by John Hughes, starring Anthony Michael Hall, Kelly LeBrock, and Ilan Mitchell-Smith.

Love Life Series Coming To Netflix

  • Love Life (Seasons 1-2) – Both seasons of the HBO Max anthology series starring Anna Kendrick and William Jackson Harper. Depicts its two protagonists each season on the journey from first love to last love, chronicling one of their relationships.
  • SEC Football: Any Given Saturday (Season 1) Netflix Original – Docu-series following college football’s elite players that retreads their steps in the 2024 season. 
  • Titans: The Rise of Hollywood (Limited Series) – The history of Hollywood told through the pioneers that built it.

  • Wednesday (Season 2 – Volume 1) Netflix Original – Jenna Ortega and Emma Myers, along with a large ensemble cast, return for the highly anticipated second season of Wednesday. Volume 2 to launch in September.

  • Gods of Egypt (2016) – After losing control of Egypt to dark god Set, who brings chaos to the land, god Horus teams up with a mortal thief to save humankind.

  • Stolen: Heist of the Century (2025) Netflix Original – A gang of thieves try and rob the Diamond Center and this documentary retraces their steps.

  • Kandahar (2023) – Tom Harris (Gerard Butler), an undercover CIA operative, is stuck deep in hostile territory in Afghanistan. After his mission is exposed, he must fight his way out, alongside his Afghan translator, to an extraction point in Kandahar, all whilst avoiding elite enemy forces and foreign spies tasked with hunting them down.

  • Lovesick (2025) – Romance – A love story that starts with pretending to be sick, describing a troubled teenager named Ye Zijie who always loves to get into trouble. By chance, he discovered that “it’s good to be sick”.
