Amc Shows Leaving Netflix August 2025

Some AMC shows are about to depart Netflix in the US, but it may not be all of them as originally planned. Our understanding is that some series may be potentially re-upped, in addition to the possibility of new seasons of shows being added, although it appears that deals have yet to be finalized.

To rewind, last August, Netflix struck a landmark deal with AMC to bring a selection of their most popular shows onto Netflix in the United States for a year. They ultimately came to Netflix in several batches, with a large number arriving in mid-August and a few more in early 2025, with a handful arriving in between. As mentioned at the time, the shows were all struck on single-year deals. That year comes to an end on August 19th, 2025.

Let’s review what we know and which titles are being removed. In Netflix’s New on Netflix newsletter, sent to the press on the morning of July 23rd, 2025, they included five AMC shows in their confirmed removals section:

  • Gangs of London (Seasons 1-2)
  • Into the Badlands (Seasons 1-3)
  • Kevin Can F**k Himself (Seasons 1-2)
  • Preacher (Seasons 1-4)
  • The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live (Season 1) – This is leaving earlier than initially expected, given it was added in January 2025.

Next, when we navigate to Netflix itself, some titles display removal signs, while others do not. Those additional with removal notices include:

  • That Dirty Black Bag (Season 1)
  • The Terror (Season 1)
  • Monsieur Spade (Season 1)

In the case of all of the above, a notice appears on the page for the show and while booting them up, stating that your “Last day to watch” is August 18th with the actual removal planned for August 19th.

Removal Notices On Amc Titles

For the remaining titles, no removal notice is currently displayed, suggesting that a renewal may be forthcoming. Titles in this category include:

  • Dark Winds (Seasons 1-2) – Netflix could nab season 3, which has been released.
  • Interview with the Vampire (Season 1) – Season 2 didn’t make its way onto Netflix last year.
  • Fear the Walking Dead (Seasons 1-8)
  • Mayfair Witches (Season 1) – Season 2 didn’t arrive on Netflix
  • The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (Season 1) – Season 2 aired late last year.

Except for Fear the Walking Dead, all the other titles have new seasons that could potentially be waiting in the wings to join Netflix. Our guess is that these might be renewed with newer seasons being added to Netflix, helping to push people to watch the even newer seasons on AMC or AMC+.

As we’ve covered elsewhere, the other AMC shows are under different deals. Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul will remain on Netflix through at least 2027. That window also applies to The Walking Dead and the more recent addition to the Netflix library, Pantheon

Netflix declined to comment on the AMC deal when we reached out yesterday. AMC representatives did not respond to a request for comment earlier this year.
