Always Be My Maybe is an upcoming Netflix Original romantic comedy. The story was written by stars of the film Randall Park and Ali Wong, along with Michael Golamco. Both stars have also served as the executive producers on the Original with Nahnatchka Khan (Fresh Off the Boat) serving as the director.


What is the plot of Always Be My Maybe?

Marcus and Sasha have been lifetime friends; ever since they were kids, the pair have always been close but never romantically involved. Finally, as adults, Sasha is single, and Marcus, who’s been in love with her for many years, is building up the courage to ask her out. Chickening out last minute to tell her his feelings over the phone, he asks to meet up with her the next day, only for Sasha to tell Marcus she met someone the night before.

When did production take place?

Filming began on May 30th, 2018 and took place in San Francisco over the next couple of months. All filming concluded on August 13th and the film went into post-production. As for why it has taken so long for the film to release is currently unknown. It is likely that the Netflix release schedule for their other Original films dictated the release of Always Be My Maybe.
