Amassing over $555 million worldwide, including over $104 million in the US & Canada. The franchise was already a massive success thanks to its manga and anime series, which has not only been a huge success on its platform Crunchyroll, but even on Netflix, where every season is available to stream on Netflix US.
Thrust into the heart of the Infinity Castle, the Demon Slayer Corps is surrounded by countless number of demons, including the emaining members of Muzans Upper Moon Six. Is Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle coming to Netflix?
Sadly, no, fans can’t expect Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle anytime soon. But that doesn’t mean the film won’t be on Netflix sometime in the future.
We’ll get to the why below but first some background on Netflix’s relationship with Sony, and Sony’s with the anime streaming service Crunchyroll.
Naturally, there is some confusion surrounding the distribution of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle thanks to Sony Pictures Releasing’s involvement. For readers unaware, in 2021 Netflix signed an output deal with Sony Pictures. This deal meant that after a Sony film has ended its theatrical release it would be available to stream on Netflix soon after.
The deal has seen such Sony films land on Netflix:
- Uncharted
- A Man Called Otto
- Bullet Train
- Where The Crawdads Sing
- Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
Now, where the confusion begins with the Demon Slayer specifically is that the film is distributed by “Crunchyroll through Sony Pictures Releasing.” So, while Sony Pictures Releasing has been involved with the distribution of the film, the actual distributor is Crunchyroll.

So why is Sony involved? This is because Crunchyroll was purchased by Sony in 2021, and the acquisition resulted in Crunchyroll and FUNimation merging to create Crunchyroll, LLC. While the film is technically a “Sony” film, it actually falls under the banner of Crunchyroll, and thus its distribution after the theatrical release exists outside of Netflix’s output deal.
To confirm whether or not Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle is coming to Netflix after the film’s theatrical release we reached out to Sony, and a spokesperson confirmed that the film will be going to Crunchroll’s streaming service.

Will Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle ever come to Netflix?
There’s a certainly a chance it could happen.
At the time of writing every season of Demon Slayer is available to stream on Netflix. Given Netflix’s history with licensing the anime series there’s no reason why Netflix can’t license Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle someday.
There are two more Demon Slayer movies on the way, so it’s possible Netflix could license the first film close to the release of the sequel.
