While the anime is still ongoing on Netflix, The Fragrant Flower That Blooms with Dignity recently ended its run in Japan, and fans are clamoring to know if more episodes are on the way. Netflix and Cloverworks have yet to announce a second season, but we expect that renewal will be announced sooner rather than later.

The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity is an internationally licensed Japanese Netflix Original romantic anime series directed by Miyuki Kuroki and adapted from the manga by Saka Mikami, which was serialised in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket. Cloverworks is the animation studio behind the series.
Rintaro Tsumugi, a second-year student at Chidori High, an infamous high school known for students with poor academic records, has an intimidating appearance, but underneath is a gentle soul who helps out at his family’s patisserie. It’s here that he befriends Kaoruko Waguri, a student of Kikyo Girls High. However, for their friendship to bloom, the pair must overcome social barriers and stigma, as girls of Kikyo Girls High have been explicitly told not to interact with the boys of Chidori.
The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity season 2 Netflix renewal status
Official Renewal Status: Pending (Last Updated: 01/10/2025)
At the time of writing, The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity has yet to be renewed for a second season. The reason for this could be that, despite all 13 episodes being broadcast in Japan, Netflix is still playing catch-up, as only 5 of the 13 episodes have been released, and the finale won’t arrive until November 23, 2025.
It’s likely that if a second season is planned, CloverWorks will wait until the series concludes on Netflix before announcing the renewal.
Given the online reaction to the anime so far, we fully expect The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity to be renewed for a second season.

Of the 163 published chapters of the manga, the anime has adapted just 39 chapters, which equate to just over 5 volumes of the manga.

How much of the manga will season 2 cover?
With the first season covering just 39 manga chapters, if the second season follows suit, then we would expect season 2 to end sometime around chapter 76 to chapter 80 (Between volumes 10 & 11).
