Production is ongoing on Netflix’s ambitious new crime drama from the United Kingdom, Legends. Created by Neil Forsyth, the new series has been in production for over a month, and we’ve finally got some first looks behind-the-scenes on the hotly anticipated series in addition to three additional castings courtesy of BACKGRID.

Legends is about a Customs agent going undercover to infiltrate Britain’s most dangerous drug gangs, following a thrilling criminal investigation based on extensive research and interviews with those involved in the top-secret operation.

Filming on the new series kicked off in late March and is scheduled to wrap up in late July 2025. Numerous eyewitnesses have spotted filming in and around London, but now we know that some of the filming has taken place in Liverpool. Through multiple pictures we’ve received exclusively, we know an extended filming period has taken place at the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool.

We first unveiled the first two cast members attached to the show, Sonny Walker and Joshua Barry, back in mid-March 2025, with Netflix lifting the lid on 10 additional names who had joined the cast later that month, including:

  • Douglas Hodge (G20Joker)
  • Tom Hughes (The EnglishVictoria)
  • Johnny Harris (A Gentleman in MoscowGreat Expectations)
  • Gerald Kyd (The AssassinLove Rat)
  • Charlotte Ritchie (YOUGhosts)

Joining that impressive cast are three more:

  • Con O’Neill, best known for his standout role as Izzy Hands in HBO’s Our Flag Means Death, also earned acclaim for his performances in Chernobyl, Happy Valley, and The Batman.
  • Paddy Rowan has appeared in numerous projects over the years, including notably Four LivesG’wed, and Time.
  • Robbie O’Neill who featured in the frantic Boiling Point series for the BBC and most recently on Netflix’s Adolescence as Mr. Garfield.

We did reach out to Netflix for comment on the new castings, but have yet to hear a response.

Now, let’s get into some of the new filming snaps taken on May 19th that we can reveal exclusively:
