Netflix is getting another medical drama series in the United States. Doc, which premiered earlier this year with 10 episodes in its first season on Fox, is joining the US library from September 23rd, 2025, for an unknown period. The Netflix addition of season 1, consisting of all 10 episodes, comes as season 2 begins airing on Fox.

Based on the Italian Rai 1 series Doc – Nelle tue mani, the American version stars Molly Parker as Dr. Amy Larsen, an attending physician and chief of internal medicine at Minneapolis’s fictional Westside Hospital. After suffering a traumatic brain injury in a car accident, she struggles to rebuild both her career and personal life.

Alongside Parker, the series stars Omar Metwally, Jon Ecker, Amirah Vann, Anya Banerjee, Patrick Walker, Charlotte Fountain-Jardim, and Felicity Huffman.

No word on whether more Netflix regions will pick up the show for now.

We suspect the license is intended to drum up interest for the second season, which began airing on Fox last week. Sony Pictures Television is the ultimate owner of the show and continues to license many of its shows it produces for other providers. Over the past year, we’ve also seen a couple of other major Fox shows (not owned by Sony Pictures Television) come to Netflix in the form of the adult animated comedies Krapopolis and Grimsburg, although they were only licensed for a single year, with both having now left the service without their second seasons licensed.

Hulu will also continue to stream the show on a catch-up basis, and season 1 will remain available for the foreseeable future.

Of course, Netflix’s list of medical dramas still remains mainly buoyed by Grey’s Anatomy, which continues to receive new seasons each year. The streamer had a big swing in the genre earlier in the year with Pulse, but was ultimately beat out by The Pitt on HBO, and its viewership didn’t justify a second season renewal. It still has a number of international shows in the genre, though, with The Trauma Code, Breathless (soon returning for season 2), and Resident Playbook/Hospital Playlist being highlights.
