As one of the longest-running and most beloved family dramas on television, Heartland remains a massive staple for Netflix subscribers around the globe. While fans in the US are currently enjoying the long-awaited arrival of season 18, the Bartlett-Fleming family’s journey is already well ahead of us. With season 19 having wrapped up its Canadian broadcast and a milestone season 20 currently in production, there’s plenty more ranch drama on the horizon. Here is your complete guide to when the next seasons of Heartland will be saddling up and trotting onto Netflix in your region.
Because Heartland is a licensed title, its rollout on Netflix varies wildly depending on where you live. As a quick refresher, new episodes always debut first on CBC in Canada, where season 19 aired its 10-episode run between October 5th and December 7th, 2025.
What to Expect From Season 19 of Heartland
Following a cliffhanger finale in Season 18, the Bartlett-Fleming family faces new external threats that could change the ranch forever. Amy is navigating her blossoming relationship with Nathan Pryce. However, she must balance this new love with her responsibilities as a mother and her professional reputation, which comes under fire this season. Jack Bartlett finds his patience tested by an unlikely and inexperienced new ranch hand named Dex, and worst of all, a new adversary threatens the ranch, forcing Lou to make difficult choices to protect her family’s legacy.
Season 19 featured a mostly familiar cast but also included some fresh faces, including Kamaia Fairburn as River, Dylan Hawco as Dex, and Linda Boyd as Tammy Stillman, Lisa’s long-lost sister.
When will Heartland season 19 be on Netflix in the US?
Let’s begin with Heartland in the United States, which has now been streaming the show in one form or another since 2014, with new seasons coming every year since then. As you may know, Netflix US is behind other regions.
That’s because Netflix doesn’t have first-run rights; those still reside with UPtv (Up Faith and Family), and that remains the case in 2026 for season 19. As confirmed by TVLine, the network will once again serve as the show’s U.S. home for its debut, beginning on March 19th, 2026.
Their exclusivity period lasts about a year, so we don’t expect Heartland season 19 to be on Netflix US until at least early 2027, though it could launch as late as summer.
We can also confirm that Netflix has the rights to the show through at least September 2028 in the US, meaning we shouldn’t get a removal scare like we did last year anytime soon.
When will Season 19 of Heartland be on Netflix in International Regions?
The good news is that international regions, such as the United Kingdom and Australia, receive season 19 of Heartland much sooner than those in the States. On the flip side, they lost all the older seasons (1 through 6) in 2022, and those haven’t returned.
Fans outside of the US didn’t have to wait long this time around. We can confirm that season 19 touched down on Netflix internationally back in March 2026.

What’s going on with Season 20 of Heartland?
The wait is officially over! CBC has formally renewed Heartland for a milestone Season 20. Production officially got underway on May 12, 2026, in Calgary, Alberta, with filming scheduled to run through August 30, 2026. The new season is confirmed to premiere on CBC and CBC Gem in Fall 2026.
Following the release schedules outlined above, that would suggest an early-to-mid 2027 international debut on Netflix, and a 2028 Netflix US release following another one-year exclusivity period on UP Faith and Family.
There are also unconfirmed rumors among the fandom that Heartland season 20 may be the show’s last. Fingers crossed that won’t be the case, but if it is, what a heck of a run this show has had.
Finally, CBC is inviting superfans of the show to get involved and submit videos to potentially be included in a major celebration video.
