The viral Netflix show Is It Cake? is returning with new episodes beginning in October 2025, with more to come throughout the remainder of the year and into early 2026. The initial news came as part of an unscripted food slate revealed by Netflix back in July 2025. Here’s an updated guide to what’s coming up, which began with the Halloween special in October and continues in November with a Christmas follow-up.

The show is infinitely popular on Netflix despite its basic premise, and it consistently goes viral across social media. It first debuted in March 2022 and has run for three seasons thus far, including a Holiday special spin-off series released in December 2024.

According to the Netflix Engagement Reports, covering viewership between 2023 and 2024, the four available seasons of the show (including the first holiday spin-off) have garnered 294.50 million viewing hours on Netflix, equivalent to 57.40 million views.

So, what are the new shows on the way? Let’s break it down (in order of release):

Saturday Night Live star Mikey Day, who has been the host since season 1 of the show, will return to host all three spin-off variations. Alfred Street Industries is behind the show with Dan Cutforth, Jane Lipsitz, Nan Strait, Dan Volpe, and Andrew Wallace as executive producers.

The status of the main show, which is waiting for an official season 4 renewal, was not revealed today.

In addition to these renewals, which we’ll soon be tracking on our master list of all the Netflix shows coming back for additional seasons, Netflix also confirmed that it’d be teaming up with David Chang for a third season of Dinner Time Live, starting in August 2025. It has officially announced Next Gen Chef, a new prestigious cooking show that features 21 of America’s hottest young chefs battling it out at the Culinary Institute of America. That’s due to be released in Fall 2025. We first reported on that particular show in November 2024.
