The award-winning Max Original series Hacks has begun popping up on Netflix in select international territories, and another is set to receive the show in due course. For most, however, Hacks won’t be coming to Netflix.
Created by Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs, and Jen Statsky, the comedy-drama series began on HBO Max (now just Max) back in May 2021 and stars Jean Smart, Hannah Einbinder and Carl Clemons-Hopkins.
The show follows a legendary Las Vegas stand-up comedian who is looking to reinvent her act as her residency at a Casino looks to be at risk. To do this, she teams up with a young comedy writer who has been ostracised for a bad Tweet.
Two seasons have been released thus far, with a third currently set to release on Max in Spring 2024.
Where is Hacks streaming on Netflix?
The series has already touched down in at least two regions, according to Unogs, and more select European territories will be getting the show in February 2024. Netflix in Germany, Sweden, and Ukraine are all currently streaming the show. The addition even managed to get some press in Germany.
Only the first season, consisting of 10 episodes, was added. It’s unclear whether the second season will be coming to Netflix in those countries.
Netflix Italy is among the regions set to receive the show in February 2024, according to a notice within the app (h/t Vincè on X), which states the show will touch down on February 15th, 2024.

For the most part, it looks like it’s being added to Netflix in regions where the show isn’t otherwise streaming. So if you’re in Australia, the series will remain exclusive to Stan. For Brits, the show was sold to Prime Video, and of course, for those in the United States, the show continues to be exclusive to Max.

This is one of many licensed shows set to arrive on Netflix throughout the world in 2024. As we recently reported, more Universal Television shows are being licensed in select international territories at the moment, including House MD, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Psych. Netflix US isn’t losing out entirely either, as they’re due to get all eight seasons of Monk in February 2024.
