If you can quite believe it, Mr. Robot, the wickedly smart and multi-award-winning series that first aired on USA Network, wrapped up with its fourth and final season six years ago. The show has never been streamed on Netflix in the United States, but that will change in July 2025, with the streamer confirming it has acquired the license for all four seasons.
Created by Sam Esmail, who went on to create and direct one of Netflix’s most popular movies of all time, Leave the World Behind, the series details the exploits of Elliot Alderson, a young programmer who seemingly leads a double life and begins collaborating with a terrorist group known as F-Society who are keen on bringing the entire financial and political system down.
Rami Malek headlines the cast, alongside Carly Chaikin, Portia Doubleday, Martin Wallström, and Christian Slater, who make up an incredible ensemble that led to the show winning numerous awards.
The news, first announced by Netflix’s U.S. social media account, confirms that all four seasons, comprising 45 episodes, will be available on Netflix for a limited time, starting July 3, 2025. We don’t yet know the full length of time the show will remain on Netflix, but in general, we’ve seen licensing agreements lasting anywhere between 1 and 5 years.

This marks the first time Mr. Robot has streamed on Netflix in the United States, although the show has appeared in some international territories in recent years, and it’s now available. The show, according to JustWatch, has not had a streaming home for quite some time following its departure from Prime Video late last year.
It’s unclear whether other regions of Netflix will pick up Mr. Robot in the months and years to come.
The license is a welcome addition given it’s going to be a busy Summer of licensed departures from Netflix US. As we covered just recently, July 2025 will start to see the slow bleed of HBO and Disney shows (the former shows being on Netflix for 2 years and the latter being for 18 months), with their libraries set to depart over time. That’s in addition to August 2025, when we’ll see the bulk of the AMC shows licenses up for renewal. If not renewed, the likes of Fear the Walking Dead and Dark Winds, among others, will be removed.
