Netflix has been licensing or relicensing shows from Starz and Lionsgate Television left and right as of late, and that continues in November with the news that Survivor’s Remorse will be joining the streamer. We can exclusively reveal that all four seasons will touch down on November 11th, 2025.

While Survivor’s Remorse has been available on Starz exclusively since its initial airing (and even Tubi and BET in recent years), this marks its inaugural appearance on Netflix US, offering a fresh opportunity for new viewers and a convenient streaming home for existing fans.

The series, which originally aired on Starz from 2014 to 2017, ran for 4 seasons and 36 episodes. The series was initially envisaged to run for longer, although Starz eventually opted for the series to end after its fourth season.

It follows Cam Calloway (Jessie T. Usher, who recently appeared in PULSE for Netflix and also The Boys for Prime Video), a young basketball phenom who, after signing a multi-million dollar contract with a professional team in Atlanta, grapples with newfound wealth, fame, and the complex dynamics of his Boston-bred family. The show explores themes of “survivor’s remorse” as Cam tries to balance his success with his roots and the expectations of those around him. The ensemble cast includes RonReaco Lee as Cam’s cousin and confidant Reggie Vaughn, Erica Ash as Cam’s half-sister M-Chuck, Teyonah Parris as Reggie’s wife Missy Vaughn, and Tichina Arnold as Cam’s mother Cassie Calloway. Mike Epps also featured in the first two seasons as Uncle Julius.

Executive produced by NBA superstar LeBron James, Maverick Carter, and Mike O’Malley (who also served as showrunner), Survivor’s Remorse earned critical acclaim for its sharp writing and comedic take on serious social issues. Lionsgate Television owns the underlying rights to the series.

The arrival of Survivor’s Remorse is part of a larger licensing agreement between Lionsgate Television and Netflix, following their split from Starz earlier this year. This “licensing bonanza” has already seen other popular titles, such as the return of Spartacus, make their way to the platform, plus the recent return of Nurse Jackie, both of which had streamed on Netflix before but were removed during 2020. Lionsgate Television also licensed The Hunting Wives to the US (and international regions more recently), which proved to be a massive success, leading to Netflix taking over global rights and greenlighting a second season.
