The Elixir is an upcoming Indonesian Netflix Original zombie horror-thriller film directed by Kimo Stamboel. The script was written by the team of Kimo Stamboel, Agasyah Karim, and Khalid Kashogi. It was produced by Mowin Pictures, with Edwin Nazir listed as a producer.

When is The Elixir coming to Netflix?
We now have confirmation that The Elixir will be released globally on Netflix on October 23, 2025.

A zombie outbreak is accidentally triggered in a remote village near the city of Yogyakarta when the owner of a family-run herbal medicine business attempts to innovate a new recipe.

What is the production status of The Elixir?
Filming took place in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, between June 10 and August 23, 2024. It has been in post-production for almost a year.
The director of The Elixir, Kimo Stamboel, had the following to say back when productions started:
“It has been an incredible experience for me to begin the production of the film Abadi Nan Jaya. This is my first time directing a zombie-themed film, and I am very proud because this film not only introduces a new horror element for me but also showcases and elevates Indonesian culture on the international stage through our collaboration with Netflix.”
