Netflix has just blown the lid off on the penultimate season of The Witcher, which is coming to the streamer globally next month. Netflix’s once flagship fantasy series has fallen a little out of the periphery in recent years, but can season 4, with a new lead, finally live up to the potential? New first looks suggest it might. Here are all the latest snaps and new info that just dropped during the Canelo v Crawford fight live on Netflix.
Let’s kick off with the big news (which has already been floating around this week) – all eight episodes of The Witcher season 4 drop on Netflix just in time for Halloween on October 30th, 2025.
Beyond a first look at Liam Hemsworth revealed by Entertainment Weekly back in May 2024 (that’s not a typo, it really was a year and a bit ago!), all has been quiet on the future of The Witcher beyond infrequent unsanctioned casting updates and tidbits from the set. Those are not from Netflix, but rather Redanian Intelligence. Filming on season 4 wrapped up last October after filming across the United Kingdom.
The big reveal comes with a minute-and-a-half clip from the upcoming season, which gives us a substantial taste of how Liam Hemsworth’s performance as Geralt will both align with Henry Cavill’s performance and where it’ll differ. It also continues to prove that the series still has some of the best visual effects in the business.
Netflix also provided an updated synopsis, which reads, “After the Continent-altering events of Season Three, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies. As their paths diverge, and their goals sharpen, they stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys. And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good…”
Finally, in addition to all the new first looks that just dropped (see below), Netflix also dropped the finalized core cast list:
