Netflix’s international movies have covered a wide range of genres this year, from crime thrillers and coming-of-age dramas to comedies. Here are seven of the best ones currently streaming.

Over the years, some of Netflix’s most celebrated movies have come from international divisions. Look no further than Norwegian fantasy Troll, which garnered over 100 million views and returned for a sequel in 2025. Other big success stories include shark attack thriller Under Paris (2024), which is getting a sequel in 2027, and of course, Society of the Snow (2023).

So far in 2026, international Netflix movies haven’t come close to the level of success of the frontrunners from over the years, but there have been some solid entries. Whether you’re looking for a tense thriller or a light-hearted comedy, here are seven movies to watch.

Firebreak

Country of Origin: Spain
Genre: Thriller, Drama | Released: February 20, 2026

Firebreak7

Spanish psychological thriller Firebreak (also titled Cortafuego) sees the return of fan-favorite Money Heist star Belén Cuesta and Valeria star Diana Gómez. Directed by David Victori, the film centers on a dysfunctional family trapped in an irresolvable moral dilemma, following the widow Mara (Cuesta), her daughter Lide (Candela Martínez), brother-in-law Luis (Joaquín Furriel), his wife Elena (Gómez), and their son (Mika Arias).

The group travels to a family summer house in the woods to prepare it for sale and heal the wounds of their past. However, what begins as a simple farewell turns into a nightmare when, after a heated argument, Lide runs into the woods… just as an uncontrollable wildfire breaks out.

Ratings for the movie were mixed, with critics praising its intense action and emotional tension. On its release, it dominated Netflix’s Spanish charts, spending three weeks in the top 10.

Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap (Doctor G), Hindi-language psychological thriller Accused follows Dr. Geetika Sen (Konkona Sen Sharma), a widely celebrated queer gynecologist in London. Although she is regarded as one of the best in her field, her career comes crashing down when she is accused of sexual misconduct. The fallout of the allegations turns her life upside down, threatening her career, scuppering her adoption plans, and throwing her marriage to her partner, Meera, into doubt.

Accused received mixed ratings on the whole, with positives including a powerful narrative and a strong emotional plot, delivered through compelling performances—particularly from its headline star, Konkona Sen Sharma.

Directed by Ra Karthik, Made in Korea is an easy-watching, feel-good coming-of-age comedy-drama about a small-town Indian woman, Shenbagam (Priyanka Mohan), who dreams of moving to Seoul, South Korea, to pursue her aspirations. She ultimately receives an open letter to work at a hotel in Seoul, and she travels there with her boyfriend. However, real-life South Korea is very different from the one she imagined, in both amazing and daunting ways. It’s the ultimate culture shock.

This movie isn’t for those who love high-stakes, gripping thrillers, but for those seeking a gentle, feel-good drama about finding one’s place in the world, this will absolutely fit the bill.

With the FIFA World Cup 2026 well underway, Netflix’s comedy-drama Mexico ’86 tells the story of Martín de la Torre (Diego Luna), a man who somehow managed to secure his home country of Mexico as host of the World Cup back in 1986, after Colombia ultimately withdrew. How does he achieve this? Through charm, wit, and a whole lot of chaotic negotiations. It’s a satirical comedy, pointing the finger at government bureaucracy at the time.

Golden Globe-nominated star Diego Luna steals the show with infectious energy, charisma, and awkward humor. Read our 3.5/5 review here

State of Fear

Country of Origin: Brazil
Genre: Action, Crime | Released: February 11, 2026

State Of Fear Netflix

A feature film spin-off of the hit Brazilian series Brotherhood, State of Fear is set in São Paulo, following lawyer Cristina (Naruna Costa) who must negotiate with corrupt police to rescue her kidnapped, 18-year-old niece, Elisa (Camilla Damião), who also happens to be the daughter of a criminal syndicate’s founder.

State of Fear was praised for its gripping pace and its masterful use of long, drawn-out tracking shots for action sequences—perfect for those of you who loved Extraction 2. While it is a spin-off with plenty of Brotherhood crossovers, State of Fear was also designed to work as a standalone thriller.

The Marked Woman

Country of Origin: Spain
Genre: Crime Drama | Released: June 5, 2026

The Marked Woman Netflix Spain (1)

The Marked Woman (known in Spanish as La desconocida) landed on Netflix in June 2026 following a limited theatrical release (no doubt securing its eligibility for awards ceremonies). The thriller takes place in the port of Barcelona, Spain, where a young woman is discovered locked inside a shipping container, bound, gagged, and completely bewildered and suffering from severe amnesia. When she’s admitted to hospital, there’s an instant attempt on her life. She’s being hunted, and the clock is ticking. To solve the case, Detective Anna Ripoll and Officer Quique Zárate are tasked with finding the perpetrators.

Once it arrived on Netflix, it shot up the movie charts, garnering 6.6 million views in its first week. The movie has been compared to Memento (the 2000 Christopher Nolan movie) and the Jason Bourne franchise for its action and espionage premise. If you want a gripping, fast-paced thriller, look no further.

Colors of Evil: Black

Country of Origin: Poland
Genre: Mystery, Crime | Released: June 10, 2026

Colors Of Evil Black Netflix Review

Back in 2024, Netflix released Colors of Evil: Red, which chronicled the investigation of prosecutor Leopold Bilski (Jakub Gierszał) after a girl’s body was found on a beach. The movie was highly rated, boasting a very solid 80% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The next installment in the series is Colors of Evil: Black, which comes from the same director, Adrian Panek, and screenwriter, Łukasz M. Maciejewski. The movies are based on the best-selling novel trilogy by Polish writer Małgorzata Oliwia Sobczak.

Colors of Evil: Black sees Bilski return to investigate a case in which a young boy goes missing in a small town. The investigation reveals unexpected links to an old missing persons case, which resurfaces.

The third novel in the trilogy is Colors of Evil: White, but Netflix has not yet green-lit the threequel. Watch this space.
