What is the plot of The Evil Lawyer?
Billed as Thailand’s first courtroom drama of this massive scale, the series moves away from conventional, tidy legal procedurals. While a central murder mystery serves as the show’s emotional spine, the narrative will actually span multiple interconnected cases designed to expose the dark, systemic vulnerabilities of the Thai legal landscape.
Netflix has provided the official synopsis for The Evil Lawyer:
“When a principled young lawyer becomes the prime accused in the murder of a high-ranking police officer’s son, he is forced to team up with the “Evil Lawyer,” exploiting every legal loophole to prove his innocence.”
Director Nottapon Boonprakob teased that the series is intentionally designed to leave audiences sitting in uncomfortable gray zones: “We wanted this series to push audiences toward questions with no easy answers — about the justice system, its loopholes, society, and moral boundaries… so that the lack of answers leads to more questions and continuous reflection.”

Who are the cast members of The Evil Lawyer?
The Evil Lawyer features an elite ensemble pairing seasoned veterans with rising stars, many of whom are portraying deeply desperate and morally compromised characters.
Rhatha Phongam leads the series as Jittri, the titular “Evil Lawyer.” Infamous for exploiting loopholes and bending rules to win at all costs, she takes Mek’s case for free on one strict condition: he must come to work for her. Phongam is a beloved Thai singer and actress known for films like Only God Forgives and Fistful of Vengeance.

Years in the Making: Authenticity & Research
To ensure the legal strategies, loopholes, and courtroom theatrics are completely authentic, the creative team spent several years in heavy development. The writers regularly embedded themselves in real Thai courts, consulted extensively with active lawyers, judges, prosecutors, and NGO workers, and had dedicated legal experts audit every single script line. Expect a gritty, highly realistic dive into institutional power dynamics where the line between “good” and “evil” is completely erased.
