Welcome to an early look ahead at everything scheduled to hit Netflix in the United States throughout July 2026. This list will be your guide to all the upcoming licensed movies, returning favorite series, and major global Netflix Originals set to debut during the month.
Summer is officially in full swing, and Netflix is heating up the mid-year lineup with an absolute mountain of blockbusters, highly anticipated sequels, and ambitious new adaptations.
Headlining the Originals for July is Millie Bobby Brown’s return in Enola Holmes 3, which takes a darker turn as she heads to Malta to rescue Sherlock. We also have high-profile series debuts, including Rebecca Sonnenshine’s fresh adaptation of Little House on the Prairie, Will Ferrell’s new golf comedy The Hawk, and the final chapter of Nick and Charlie’s story in the special film event Heartstopper Forever. Plus, sports fans can look forward to more live action with the 2026 MLB Home Run Derby streaming live on the service.
On the licensed side, Netflix is packing the first of the month with heavy-hitting library titles like David Fincher’s psychological masterpiece Gone Girl and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Later in the month, the pay-1 window delivers massive theatrical releases, including Chloé Zhao’s emotional historical drama Hamnet and Universal’s epic musical sequel Wicked: For Good.

What’s Coming to Netflix on July 1st
- A Dog’s Journey (2019) – Directed by Gail Mancuso and starring Dennis Quaid, Kathryn Prescott, and Josh Gad as the voice of Bailey. This heartwarming sequel follows a devoted dog who reincarnates through multiple lifetimes to fulfill a promise to protect his beloved owner’s granddaughter as she navigates the challenges of growing up.
- A Dog’s Purpose (2017) – Searching for the meaning of his existence, a devoted dog is reincarnated through multiple lifetimes and various owners, profoundly impacting the humans he loves along the way. Directed by Lasse Hallström, this heartwarming family drama features the voice of Josh Gad alongside Dennis Quaid, KJ Apa, and Britt Robertson.

- Enola Holmes 3 (2026) Netflix Original – Director Philip Barantini takes the helm for this darker, more mature mystery starring Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, and Louis Partridge. When her famous brother Sherlock is unexpectedly kidnapped, Enola is drawn into a tangled and treacherous new case in Malta that dangerously complicates her impending wedding to Lord Tewkesbury.
- Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack (2001) – Directed by Shusuke Kaneko, this darker entry in the kaiju franchise stars Chiharu Niiyama and Ryudo Uzaki. It reimagines Godzilla as a malevolent entity fueled by the restless souls of World War II victims, forcing Japan to awaken three ancient guardian monsters—Baragon, Mothra, and King Ghidorah—to defend the nation from his rampage.
- Gone Girl (2014) – When his wife mysteriously vanishes on their fifth anniversary, a husband’s suspicious behavior quickly turns him into the prime suspect in a national media circus. David Fincher directed this dark psychological thriller starring Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, and Neil Patrick Harris.
- Leatherheads (2008) – In the scrappy, early days of 1920s professional football, a charming team owner tries to legitimize his struggling league by recruiting a celebrated college star, only to clash with a sharp-witted journalist determined to expose the young player’s war record. Directed by George Clooney, this romantic sports comedy stars Clooney, Renée Zellweger, and John Krasinski.
- Rebirth of Mothra Trilogy (1996-1998) – Following the offspring of the legendary guardian monster, this colorful kaiju fantasy series sees Mothra Leo battle a succession of ancient, world-destroying threats like King Ghidorah to protect Earth and its children. Directed by Okihiro Yoneda and Kunio Miyoshi, the Japanese film series stars Megumi Kobayashi and Sayaka Yamaguchi.

- Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) – Superhero action film. Directed by Jon Watts, and starring Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr. Thrilled by his recent experience with the Avengers, a young Peter Parker returns home to Queens and struggles to balance his ordinary high school life with his secret identity as a web-slinging superhero, desperate to prove his worth when a ruthless new villain known as the Vulture emerges to threaten everything he holds dear.
- Sugar (2008) – Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, this acclaimed sports drama stars Algenis Perez Soto and Andre Holland. It follows a talented young baseball pitcher from the Dominican Republic who struggles with intense culture shock, isolation, and professional pressure after being drafted to play in the American minor leagues.

- Summer ’36 (Limited Series) Netflix Original – Set in Nice during the summer of 1936 as workers enjoy their historic first paid holidays, this French period drama follows four very different women whose lives become unexpectedly entangled in the murder of a prosecutor at a Riviera hotel. The mystery stars Julie de Bona, Sofia Essaïdi, and Nolwenn Leroy.
- Talk to Me (2007) – Based on a true story, a charismatic ex-con becomes a popular, outspoken radio talk show host in 1960s Washington D.C., using his platform to voice the frustrations and hopes of the community during a volatile era. Directed by Kasi Lemmons, this biographical drama stars Don Cheadle, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Taraji P. Henson.
What’s Coming to Netflix on July 2nd
- Human Vapor (Season 1) Netflix Original – Reimagining a classic Toho sci-fi film, this Japanese thriller series centers on a terrifying, amorphous being who evades capture while executing a string of explosive, untraceable assassinations. Directed by Shinzo Katayama and written by Yeon Sang-ho, the show stars Shun Oguri, Yu Aoi, Suzu Hirose, Kento Hayashi, and Yutaka Takenouchi.
- Survival of the Thickest (Season 3) Netflix Original – Created by and starring Michelle Buteau based on her own book of essays, this heartfelt comedy series returns for its final chapter.

- The Choral (2025) – Starring Ralph Fiennes, Roger Allam, and Mark Addy, this poignant historical drama was directed by Nicholas Hytner and written by Alan Bennett. Set in 1916 Yorkshire, the story follows a depleted community choir that must recruit local teenagers and an uncompromising new choirmaster to find hope and resilience through music as World War I rages on.

- Sparks of Tomorrow (Season 1) Netflix Original – Set in a steam-powered, smoke-filled alternate vision of early 20th-century Kyoto, a grieving boy and a devout girl cross paths to uncover the secrets of a mysterious “Electrical Catalog” that promises a revolutionary new age. Directed by Minoru Ota and produced by Kyoto Animation, this visually striking sci-fi anime series features the voice talents of Yuma Uchida and Sora Amamiya.

- Hamnet (2025) – Set against the backdrop of the bubonic plague in 1580s England, this emotional historical drama explores the passionate marriage of William Shakespeare and his gifted wife Agnes as they grapple with the devastating loss of their young son, an event that ultimately inspires one of history’s greatest plays. Directed by Chloé Zhao, the film stars Jessie Buckley, Paul Mescal, Emily Watson, and Joe Alwyn.

- Little House on the Prairie (Season 1) Netflix Original – Blending a hopeful family drama with an epic survival tale, this fresh adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s classic books explores the triumphs and struggles of the pioneers who shaped the American frontier. Showrun and written by Rebecca Sonnenshine, the series stars Alice Halsey, Luke Bracey, Crosby Fitzgerald, Skywalker Hughes, and Warren Christie.

- 23 000 Lives (2026) Netflix Original – Directed by Markus Goller and starring Louis Hofmann, Maria Dragus, and Mala Emde, this gripping drama is inspired by the true story of the ‘Jugend Rettet’ organization. Driven by a refusal to stand by, a group of inexperienced young people crowdfund an old fishing vessel to rescue refugees in the Mediterranean, saving thousands before their humanitarian mission severely tests their understanding of law and justice.

- Heartstopper Forever (2026) Netflix Original – Reprising their beloved roles, Kit Connor and Joe Locke star in this bittersweet romance special written by Alice Oseman and directed by Wash Westmoreland. As Nick prepares for university, he and Charlie must navigate the daunting reality of a long-distance relationship while their friends confront the challenges of growing up.
- The Map of Longing (Limited Series) Netflix Original –Spanish. Left with a profound existential void after the tragic death of the sister she was meant to save, Greta must navigate her grief by following a mysterious game her sister left behind to help her find her own path in life. Along her journey of self-discovery, she crosses paths with an enigmatic young man who harbors a haunting past of his own. Now demonized as the Wicked Witch of the West, an exiled Elphaba must ultimately reunite with the beloved Glinda to confront their intertwined pasts and change the future of Oz.

- Ransom Canyon (Season 2) Netflix Original – Returning to the sweeping vistas of Texas Hill Country, this heartfelt drama picks up six months after the first season. Rancher Staten Kirkland fights to reclaim his legacy at the Double K Ranch, while musician Quinn O’Grady is torn between her complicated small-town roots and the allure of New York City. Written by April Blair, the series stars Josh Duhamel, Minka Kelly, Lizzy Greene, Garrett Wareing, and Philip Winchester.

- 72 Hours (2026) Netflix Original – Hoping to save his flailing career, a forty-year-old executive inadvertently joins a group of twenty-somethings on a wild three-day bachelor party after being added to their group text by mistake. Directed by Tim Story, this comedy stars Kevin Hart, Marcello Hernández, Mason Gooding, Kam Patterson, Ben Marshall, and Teyana Taylor.
- The Truthers (2026) Netflix Original – Returning home after her mother’s mysterious death, an estranged daughter reunites with her erratic, conspiracy-obsessed father, only to suspect that he might be the murderer. Directed by Roger Gual and written by Carlos Montero and Darío Madrona, this tense Spanish drama stars Stéphanie Magnin, Jose Coronado, Fanny Gautier, and Alberto Olmo.
