Following the recent announcement that a Manifest spin-off is officially in the works at Netflix, we’re finally getting more details on where the new sci-fi mystery will take place—and where the cameras will actually be rolling.

As a quick recap, Arrivals: A New Manifest Mystery will shift the supernatural action away from New York City and head straight to the middle of the country. If you missed it, here’s the official logline for the upcoming series:

“When a mysterious plane crash-lands in Denver, the passengers emerge with no memory of who they are, where they came from, or why they’re here. A young social worker and a novice Homeland Security agent team up with the new arrivals in an attempt to stop a humanity-ending catastrophe, discovering along the way that they are all part of the very puzzle they’re trying to solve.”

To help tide fans over while the 60-minute ensemble drama works its way through pre-production, the creative team has launched a brand new behind-the-scenes series on Instagram. Spearheaded by Manifest creator Jeff Rake, alongside partners Margaret Easley and first-time show creator Laura Putney, the video series aims to give fans an unprecedented peek at how a television show goes from its initial announcement all the way to airing on Netflix.

In their inaugural update, Putney confirmed the show’s setting and shed some light on the production process. The team recently traveled to Denver, Colorado, for location scouting to ensure they capture the authentic look, feel, and atmosphere of the city. However, as is often the case with television magic, production will actually be setting up camp up north.

“We’re not shooting in Denver. Fun fact, we’re shooting the show in Vancouver,” Putney explained to fans. “We’re going to have to make the mountains and the city of Vancouver look and feel like we’re in Denver. It’s a Hollywood trick, but it’s important that we get it right.”

This direct confirmation lines up perfectly with the production grid details we’ve seen, which list Vancouver as the active location for the Warner Bros. Television, Tall Baby Productions, and Compari Entertainment co-production. No official start date is in the books yet, although we suspect it won’t be until next year with our understanding that it could be as soon as January 2027.
