The case has been closed on the third movie in the Enola Holmes franchise, with a slew of photos appearing this morning confirming that production on the third entry has now wrapped and heads into an extensive post-production period ahead of an eventual Netflix release.
Filming for the third entry took place primarily in the UK, mainly at Shepperton Studios, but also headed abroad this time around to the beautiful island of Malta. Filming officially got underway on April 10, 2025, and wrapped this morning on June 27, 2025.
As you may have read, filming for the third movie wasn’t entirely smooth sailing. According to a report from The Sun, the production was hit by a stomach bug, “a bit of dodgy catering,” which landed some of the cast and crew with food poisoning, causing a temporary pause in production.
A slew of people from the cast and crew celebrated wrapping on the new movie overnight, including director Philip Barantini, who shared an Instagram reel confirming that filming had come to an end.

Millie Bobby Brown posted several photos from the set, and they nearly instantly garnered over a million likes. The caption for the photos: “Case closed”.
On the casting front, there aren’t many new names that’ve been attached beyond the key cast, which includes Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, Helena Bonham Carter, Himesh Patel, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, and Louis Partridge. However, we’ve got a couple more names to add to the list. Joe Azzopardi has been cast in the role of Mikiel Mizzi, and Eirwen Phoenix, a young actor, has been cast in an unknown role.
As mentioned at the top of this article, Netflix has yet to set an official launch window for Enola Holmes 3, although given the Fall 2025 lineup of movies is now becoming quite full, it might struggle to squeeze in this year. If we had to guess, Enola Holmes 3 would make a good candidate for the early Spring 2026 lineup for Netflix. Watch this space, though.
