It’s the weekend, and that means it’s time to dive into Netflix’s latest offerings. It’s been a somewhat busy week, with a mix of new licensed titles and a selection of new Netflix Originals from around the world. We are here to walk you through what’s worth watching, the full list of what’s new on Netflix and what’s been trending in the top 10s for the week ending July 19th, 2025.

Quick housekeeping before diving in. You can find our roundup of last week’s new arrivals here, where 29 new movies and series touched down. You can also see what’s still to come to Netflix throughout July 2025 and into August 2025 using our guides

The Cursed / Eight for Silver (2021)

Rating: R
Language: English
Genre: Fantasy, Horror, Mystery
Director: Sean Ellis
Cast: Boyd Holbrook, Kelly Reilly, Alistair Petrie
Writer: Sean Ellis
Runtime: 111 min / 1h 51m

Making its Netflix debut this week is the new R-rated werewolf horror movie The Cursed, featuring some big stars led by Boyd Holbrook, who recently returned to our screens courtesy of The Sandman season 2. Set in the late 1800s, the movie follows an outsider on a quest for redemption, who endeavors to stop a spate of brutal slayings befalling a French village with a dark past.

The movie picked up pretty good reviews from critics upon its initial theatrical release, with Damond Fudge writing in February 2022, “The Cursed is a moody and atmospheric horror film, complete with layer upon layer of fog swirling around grey, barren trees under heavy, overcast skies. It also heartily succeeds in giving us an inventive brand of werewolf.”

UNTAMED (Limited Series)

Number of episodes: 6
Rating: TV-MA
Language: English
Genre: Crime, Drama, Mystery
Cast: Eric Bana, Sam Neill, Rosemarie DeWitt

The big new debut series for July is already a hit. Releasing on Thursday, the new mystery crime thriller is led by Eric Bana, who was one of the first stars to make the jump to Netflix, teaming with Ricky Gervais in Special Correspondents nearly a decade ago. However, he’s finally back for his second major project, and it has a lot going for it, in addition to its Yellowstone aesthetic… Set in the iconic Yosemite National Park (although filmed in Canada), the plot revolves around a special agent for the park being set on a journey after discovering a body in the vast park.

Almost all the praise has been heaped on Bana’s performance alongside the stunning cinematography and tight writing. If you’re looking for a crime drama, this is for you.

Entitled (Season 1)

Number of episodes: 8
Rating: TV-MA
Language: English
Genre: Comedy
Director: Tim Kirkby
Cast: Brett Gelman, Donald Sumpter, Mark Quartley, Pippa Bennett-Warner, Brendan Patricks, Charlotte Arrowsmith

Entitled Brett Gelman

Our final pick of the week is one that’s very much flying under the radar, and its untold story of how it came to Netflix is perhaps just as fascinating as the comedy series itself. You see, Channel 4 in the United Kingdom and Showtime in the US were supposed to release this series helmed by Stranger Things star Brett Gelman, but as far as we can work out, it never happened. That’s why it was such a surprise to see it on the Netflix US roster for July, and now it’s here.

The premise of the show is that an American widower gets to know his British wife’s estranged family in their crumbling gothic mansion in the English countryside as they compete for his affections – and his newly inherited fortune. It’s quirky and often very weird and will almost certainly not be for everyone, but for those who like something a little bit different, this is for you.
