Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist will make its big Netflix debut in October 2025 across multiple regions worldwide. The beloved series only ran for two seasons on NBC, but has remained a fan favorite. Now, it will reach an even larger audience courtesy of Netflix.
Starring Jane Levy, Skylar Astin, Alex Newell, John Clarence Stewart, and Peter Gallagher, and created by Austin Winsberg, the musical comedy follows Zoey Clarke, a developer who discovers she has a unique superpower: she can hear people’s innermost thoughts as songs.
The series ran for 25 episodes between 2020 and 2021 before being unceremoniously canceled by the network. Following that, a massive fan-led campaign online came about to get the series revived in some form or another. Among the streamers targeted for a revival was Netflix. Of course, it was eventually The Roku Channel that stepped in and gave the series a big Christmas movie send-off in late 2021.
Both seasons 1 and 2 will be joining Netflix alongside the movie Zoey’s Extraordinary Christmas*, beginning October 1st in select regions. Those select regions currently don’t include any of the major English-speaking countries like the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom, according to our latest intel. However, it does include Australia and New Zealand.
Additional regions we’ve confirmed the series is coming to include many European regions, such as Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Italy, plus Nordic territories like Sweden and Norway, as well as Latin American territories like Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico. Asian territories appear to be excluded for now.
We should also note that the series is coming in all of those territories, while the movie may be excluded based on your country.

Lionsgate Television is behind its licensing to Netflix, which has significantly increased its output to Netflix over the past year or so. We’ve seen some of their biggest hits, like Yellowjackets, hit the platform around the world in addition to legacy titles, either hitting Netflix in the US or elsewhere. Of course, they’re also the studio behind The Hunting Wives, which was licensed to Netflix US exclusively and performed so well that it led to a season 2 global renewal.
