Moving star Kim Do Hoon will lead Netflix’s brand-new historical-action film Dochabi (WT), set in the Joseon period, in which a former military officer must come out of hiding to take down a corrupt official. Dochabi (WT) is an upcoming South Korean Netflix Original historical-action film directed by Ahn Tae Jin (The Night Owl) and written by screenwriter Hwang Sung Goo (The King’s Warden).

“In the northern borderlands of Joseon, Tae San, a former military officer living in the mountains in hiding, becomes entangled in the plot of the corrupt official Lee Do Gwan, who plans to disguise slash-and-burn farmers as “barbarians” to hunt them. Tae San faces a life-threatening situation, putting not only himself but also the life of the one person he cherishes at risk…”
Who are the cast members of Dochabi (WT)?
Kim Do Hoon will play the lead role of Tae San. The actor is most well-known for leading dramas such as Dear X, Your Honor, Here’s My Plan, and the popular Disney+ drama Moving. His only lead role in a film to date is the 2019 film Days of Wrath 2.

Jeon Jong Seo has been cast in the role of the female lead, Lee Ha Yi. Meanwhile, Lee Joon Gi has been cast as the villain.
Jeon Jong Seo is best known for starring in Netflix’s Korean adaptation of Money Heist as “Tokyo” and for starring in the popular dramas Wedding Impossible and Queen Woo. She also played the lead role in Netflix’s popular action film Ballerina.

Lee Joon Gi has never starred in a Netflix project but has previously starred in K-dramas such as Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun, Again My Life, and Flower of Evil. He has also starred in films such as Virgin Show, May 18, and Never Said Goodbye.

Lee Sang Yi is the latest actor to have been offered the role of Park Se Ryong in Dochabi, which he reportedly has accepted. Netflix subscribers will know him best as Hong U Jin in the beloved crime-action drama Bloodhounds. He has also starred in Netflix dramas such as Boyfriend on Demand, My Demon, Crash Course in Romance, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, When the Camellia Blooms, and Prison Playbook. This will be Lee Sang Yi’s first Netflix film.

What’s the production status of Dochabi (WT)?
Filming is reported to begin at the end of August 2026, and is expected to end by mid-January 2027.
When is the Netflix release date for Dochabi (WT)?
With filming set to get underway in August, the earliest we could see the film released on Netflix is Q4 2027. However, a release in the first half of 2028 is more realistic.
