While there are fewer documentaries coming to Netflix in September compared to August, there are still six new titles to keep an eye on.
After releasing 8 new documentaries in August, Netflix will debut a diverse range of 6 documentaries in September. This includes a two-part documentary about Hollywood legend Charlie Sheen, and a series featuring a victim of the infamous ‘Tinder Swindler’ exposing similar men. Coming to Netflix: September 5th
Back in 2022, Netflix released The Tinder Swindler, a feature documentary film about a conman who used dating app Tinder to manipulate women into financially supporting his fancy and lavish life. The film was a massive hit for the streamer, and it’s still cited as one of Netflix’s finest today.
Now, in Love Con Revenge, Cecilie Fjellhøy — a victim of the ‘Tinder Swindler’ — teams up with private investigator Brianne Joseph. They work together to help other victims of romance fraud get payback. This six-episode docuseries is a must-watch for anyone who enjoyed The Tinder Swindler.

Coming to Netflix: September 10th
Hollywood legend Charlie Sheen is a household name for movie buffs and sitcom lovers. His most famous credits include such movies as Platoon (1986), Wall Street (1987), and Major League (1989). He’s perhaps best known for his role as Charlie Harper in the sitcom Two and a Half Men — a role that made him the highest-paid TV actor of all time.
Over the years, Sheen’s troubled life has been well-documented, from substance abuse to very public fallouts. In Netflix’s new two-part documentary, aka Charlie Sheen, the actor, now after seven years of sobriety, leaves it all on the table. It covers the scandals, heartbreaks, and the lessons he’s learned over his turbulent career.
Beauty and the Bester
Coming to Netflix: September 12th
Beauty and the Bester is a three-part documentary about Dr Nandipha’s connection to Thabo Bester’s outrageous prison escape. Bester was convicted of rape and murder, notably luring models through Facebook under the illusion of offering them jobs. He was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2012.
In 2022, Bester enacted an outrageous prison escape by faking his own death. He endured just over a year out on the run before being captured in 2023. This documentary not only explores the prison break, but also how renowned Dr. Nandipha was linked to it.
Rebel Royals: An Unlikely Love Story
Coming to Netflix: September 16th
From Rebecca Chaiklin, the co-creator of smash-hit Tiger King, this new feature-length documentary explores the wedding between the Norwegian king’s eldest child, Märtha Louise, and Hollywood self-proclaimed spiritual guru, Durek Verrett.
The incredibly high-profile ceremony saw over 350 guests in attendance, including various European royalty. But it wasn’t without its media controversies. The couple sold exclusive rights to Hello! magazine for coverage, as well we allowed the Netflix documentary to be filmed. As a result, those involved believed the heavy media influence undermined tradition, favouring greed.
Coming to Netflix: September 17
From the makers of Formula 1: Drive to Survive, this documentary follows father-son duo Barry and Eddie Hearn; two of the most renowned figures in the world of sports promotion. Their company, Matchroom, has become a billion-pound sports empire, and it keeps growing and reaching new heights. While predominantly boxing, Matchroom also promotes snooker and darts.
This documentary pulls back the curtain on Barry and Eddie’s sports empire, exploring the politics and drama behind it. There are also cameos from numerous big names, such as Luke Littler, Conor Benn, Katie Taylor, and Ronnie O’Sullivan.
Nightmares of Nature: Cabin in the Woods
Coming to Netflix: September 30th

A nature documentary with a dark and sinister twist, Nightmares of Nature covers the lives of animal heroes through the lens of horror. We follow different animals, from raccoons to mice, as they contend with real-life disasters — in order to see real horror, we need not further than the animal kingdom. The series goes in heavy on the horror aspect, enlisting the expertise of genre filmmakers.
This documentary series was first unveiled way back in 2023 from Blumhouse Television, and how now been licensed by Netflix.
