Netflix is doing some great work with acquiring some excellent anime titles but as most anime fans know, there hundreds if not thousands of series out there which Netflix doesn’t have. One such anime fans have been requesting is Senryu Girl. But is the popular slice of life series available to stream on Netflix? Let’s find out.
Senryu Girl is a Japanese anime series based on the manga series Senryuu Shojo written by Masakuni Igarashi. The first chapter of Senryu Girl debuted in October 2016 for the Weekly Shōnen Magazine. The popualrity of the series has grown incresingly popular over the years with many falling on love with the art work of the manga. Connect is the studio behind the production of Senryu Girl to which the studio has previously worked on Strike the Blood, and Chaos Dragon.
Nanako Yukishiro is a shy highschool girl that is only able to communicate by senryu written on tanzaku. She forms an unlikely bond with Eiji the ‘delinquent’ who has joined the literary club. To help communicate with Nanako, Eiji attempts to write his own senryu too.
Is Senryu Girl on Netflix US?
That’s currently a resounding no. The series is licensed by Sentai Filmworks to which is carried out across the world except for Asia.
In the past, Netflix has had the license to stream some of Sentai Filmwork’s content such as High School of the Dead, Akame ga Kill! and Fate/Stay Night. Currently, the Japanese Dub is being simulcast on Crunchyroll and available to stream on there. HiDive one of the latest anime streaming services have access to the full Sentai Filmworks library and is also Simulcasting episodes. Eventually, the English dub of Senryu Girl will be available on HiDive.
There’s a chance Senryu Girl could come to Netflix but it is highly unlikely thanks to HiDive.
What about other regions?
Second verse very similar to the first above. Outside of Japan Senryu Girl is available to stream on Crunchyroll in regions such as the UK and Canada. HiDive is also available but subscription costs are in USD (US Dollars)
Australians can stream Senryu Girl through HiDive.
When English dubs are available Crunchyroll may not have access to them so keep an eye out on updates. HiDive will have the English dub episodes of Senryu Girl eventually.
The only region streaming Senryu Girl on Netflix is Japan.
