Another JTBC K-drama is making its way to Netflix in October 2025! The K-drama is an adaptation of The Story of Manager Kim, instead titled The Dream Life of Mr. Kim, and stars Ryu Seung Ryong, Myung Se Bin, and Cha. Here’s everything we know so far.
The Dream Life of Mr. Kim is an upcoming South Korean internationally licensed Netflix Original K-drama series directed by Jo Hyun Tak, and is an adaptation of the novel Seoul Jagae Daegieop Danineun Kim Bujang Iyagi by Song Hui Gu.
When is The Dream Life of Mr. Kim coming to Netflix?
The Dream Life of Mr. Kim is coming to Netflix with weekly episodes starting from October 25, 2025!
There will be a total of 12 episodes, with new episodes available on Saturdays and Sundays until the series finale on November 30, 2025.
Each episode will have a runtime of 70 minutes.
What is the plot of The Dream Life of Mr. Kim?
Manager Kim has spent the past 25 years working for the same company, and has never failed a promotion opportunity since joining, thanks to his skill as a salesman. He has led a happy life, owning his own apartment in Seoul with his wife and son. But a sudden decline in his life sees him lose both his place at work and at home, leading him on a journey of self-discovery beyond his role as a department manager at a large corporation and as a husband and father.
Who are the cast members of The Dream Life of Mr. Kim?
The three confirmed lead cast members are Ryu Seung Ryong, Myung Se Bin, and Cha Kang Yoon.
Ryu Seung Ryong plays Kim Nak Su. The actor has starred in several Netflix k-dramas, including Chicken Nugget, The Good Bad Mother, and Kingdom, as well as the films 20th Century Girl and What Happened to Mr. Cha. Outside of Netflix, he has starred in the popular Disney+ K-drama Moving.

Myung Se Bin plays Park Ha Jin. The actress starred in Netflix’s Doctor Cha, but it remains her only appearance on Netflix to date. She has led roles in other K-dramas such as Missing Crown Prince, Avengers Social Club, and First Love Again.

Cha Kang Yoon plays Kim Su Gyeom. A relative newcomer, his acting career began in 2024, and he has already starred in a Netflix series, Resident Playbook. He has also starred in dramas such as The Art of Negotiation and Head Over Heels.
