The House of Flowers is Netflix’s August Spanish drama series that’s now been out for several weeks and if you’re wondering whether there’s going to be a season 2 and when it’ll be on Netflix, we’ve got you covered. Here’s what we know about season 2.
The show slipped onto Netflix in August and although it didn’t quite get the media attention it deserved, it’s very much worthy of your list. Netflix has been releasing some great Spanish language series as of late with the likes of Cable Girls and Ingobernable and this is no exception.
The series is basically a Spanish equivalent of Bloodline, another highly rated Netflix drama. The series consists of a family going to many lengths to try and cover up the father of the families affair with a maid. It’s dubbed as a dark comedy.
The series came to Netflix around the world on August 10th, 2018 and premiered with 13 episodes.
Season 2 Renewal Status
Official renewal status: not yet renewed (last updated: August 23rd, 2018)
Unfortunately, Netflix hasn’t decided quite yet whether to renew the show. Season 1 kind of wrapped up the story nicely but we believe there are plenty more dark secrets to be told from the family.
Unlike other foreign Netflix Originals, the decision to renew The House of Flowers is completely down to Netflix as it’s the sole distributor for the show.
Will Netflix renew? At this point it’s hard to say. The series did score very well with audiences sitting at an 8.0 on IMDb right now.
When will season 2 of The House of Flowers be on Netflix?
Dramas and dark comedies like The House of Flowers are renewed often to release on a yearly cycle particularly when they’re character heavy. Other Spanish language titles have also released on an annual basis.
That means we’re currently expecting (should the show get renewed for season 2 within the first few months of the show airing) that the second series will release on Netflix in summer 2019 at the very earliest.
