Margot Robbie will produce Netflix’s adaptation of The Retrievals podcast, centered on the Yale Fertility Center Scandal, with the Maid creator Molly Smith Metzler at the helm. Details are limited, but a recent report has listed The Retrievals to start filming in September 2026.
The Retrievals is an upcoming Netflix Original limited series and the adaptation of the podcast of the same name from the New York Times and Serial Productions podcast. Six-time Academy Award-nominated actress Margot Robbie is producing the series, while Maid creator Molly Smith Metzler will serve as the series writer, executive producer, and showrunner. Lila Neugebauer (Causeway) will direct the series.

Also confirmed to be executive producers on the series are Colin McKenna of LuckyChap Entertainment, Caitlin Roper of the New York Times, and Susan Burton, the host of The Retrievals podcast. Tom Ackerley is also listed as a producer.

In issue 1507 of Production Weekly, it was reported that filming is set to begin sometime in September 2026 and will run for several months in New York before ending sometime in February 2027.

When will The Retrievals be released on Netflix?
At the time of writing, there is no official release date for The Retrievals. We also won’t learn if Netflix plans to release the series in 2027 until they release their series slate for the year.
We estimate that The Retrievals will be released on Netflix sometime in either late 2027 or early 2028.
