Welcome back to your weekly breakdown of the Netflix global top 10s, where this week the headlines are dominated by the debuts of Sweet Magnolias S4 and Maternal Instinct, as well as jaw-dropping historical milestones and a few notable misses. Jennifer Lopez is comfortably holding court at the top of the movie charts with Office Romance locking in a massive 24.6M views in its second week, while the true crime engine keeps humming as Maternal Instinct pulls in 15M views in just three days.

A big no-show this week was I Am Frankelda, which launched on Netflix in most regions but only appeared in the top 10s in three countries (Brazil, New Zealand, and Singapore), so it naturally didn’t clock enough viewership to make the global list. A shame—watch it!

Elsewhere in the top 10 news, we did a special article on KPop Demon Hunters, which has done the unthinkable by going a full 52 weeks in the top 10s. Given that it rose to #6 on the first-year anniversary celebrations, don’t expect it to drop out anytime soon.

Also, a note on our top 10 search. Some new features were launched, tying in with the daily top 10 makeover. Titles released after May 1st will feature a full daily top 10 breakdown with a chart so you can see their performance over time. We hope you find it helpful!

1. Sweet Magnolias Season 5 Debuts Down 30% on Season 4

Sweet Magnolias, while not the biggest hit in terms of pure views, has largely been renewed by its loyal returning audience. Season 3 to 4, for example, saw views drop only 13%, but season 5 saw a more drastic drop of 30% in the opening four days, from 4M to 2.8M. Too early to tell about the future; I think it might have one more season left.

2. Maternal Instinct Pulls in 15M Views in 3 Days

True crime keeps on true criming! Another impressive start for another Friday documentary, with this one being particularly engaging, given that the story is still evolving and has many questionable moments. With 15M views in its opening three days, it’s slightly below The Perfect Neighbor, released last October, and slightly above the recently released documentary, The Crash.

3. Outlast Is Back with a New Name

Over the past year, we’ve seen Netflix experiment quite a bit, with some scripted and unscripted shows returning for new seasons under new titles in hopes of boosting their viewership. Love Is Blind notably did this, going from Season X onward to be related to the city where that particular season is set.

Season 1 of the original show notably launched on a Friday and missed the first week it qualified for, and only popped up in its first full week. We can, however, compare the new spin-off evolution of the show against Season 2, which did launch on a Wednesday like Outlast: The Jungle did.

Stacked up against some of Netflix’s other recent Wednesday reality series drops, here is how Outlast: The Jungle stacks up:

4. Office Romance in Week 2

At the top of the movie charts this week was Jennifer Lopez’s Office Romance, which clocked in 24.6M views. That’s a slight rise from the opening three days, which still puts the movie around the middle of the pack for 2026, just behind Swapped but ahead of Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man

5. The Witness in Week 2

Topping the English charts—in a very quiet week, it must be said—is The Witness, which debuted with 13.2M views in its opening four days and clocked in another 10.1M here. It’s definitely outperforming very local UK stories like Legends and Toxic Town, and is pretty close to the likes of Black Doves and Run Away, but is still not quite up there with some of the country’s biggest hitters. Either way, it’s dominating the UK charts, and that’s what’s most important.

6. The Evil Lawyer from Netflix Thailand

In all honesty, there are not many comparisons from recent years for this title from Thailand. Mad Unicorn notably didn’t get into the top 10 until its first full week, while Don’t Come Home from October 2024, Doctor Climax from June 2024, and Analog Squad from December 2023 missed the list entirely. We do have two comparisons, though, and The Evil Lawyer sadly sits towards the bottom:

7. Viral Hit from Netflix Japan

The big debut for Netflix Japan this week is Viral Hit, which landed towards the lower end of Japanese live-action series that have managed to rank from their Thursday debuts in recent years, with 1.7M views.

8. Colors of Evil: Black from Netflix Poland

Poland released its highly anticipated sequel to the 2024 thriller, subtitled Black, last Wednesday, which is also the day that Colors of Evil: Red was released, so we can do a direct comparison! It debuted slightly down from the 19.9M views Colors of Evil: Red picked up, but is still impressive compared to most other Polish movies released on the same day:

Better still, Colors of Evil: Red re-entered the weekly global top 10 as well, hitting the #6 spot.

9. Will Swapped Enter the All-Time Top 10?

Swapped Big Hit For Netflix

One movie that is setting its sights on a spot in the all-time top 10 is Skydance Animation’s Swapped, which continues to maintain its momentum in the top 10. We are tracking it against War Machine from earlier this year, which did enter the all-time top 10 and has now risen to #9; Swapped is showing it might just have the trajectory to pip The Gray Man out of the 10th position at the very least. Here is how the race looks at the moment:

10. The Four Seasons Renewed for Season 3

Just yesterday, news broke that The Four Seasons would return for Season 3. We did call it in Week 1, even though the viewership drop between seasons, much like other scripted comedies, was quite substantial. The series saw a 51% drop in viewing hours this week, and here is how it compares to Season 1, which is now sitting roughly 56% down season-over-season:
