Welcome along to a brand new top 10 report! A busy week in the top 10s with a few underperformers in week 1 headlined by the new show from the creators of Money Heist and a new drama starring two heavyweights.

Before we get into it: a few no-shows this week. Next Gen Chef, the prestigious new cooking reality show that debuts its grand finale later this week, didn’t feature, suggesting it received less than 1.8 million views. As we noted last week, Adolescence hit the daily top 10s following its Emmy win and was reintroduced into the weekly top 10s at 3.6M views, taking the number 5 spot.

As always, let’s take a look at where this ranks dating back to June 2023:

  • English TV – 39,600,000 (Rank 89 of 118 weeks)
  • English Film – 81,900,000 (Rank 39 of 118 weeks)
  • Non-English TV – 24,600,000 (Rank 81 of 118 weeks)
  • Non-English Film – 27,400,000 (Rank 84 of 118 weeks)

Here’s a breakdown of the top 10s this week:

KPop Demon Hunters Ends 91-Day Run

Last week, on September 19th, we crossed the 91-day mark for KPop Demon Hunters, Netflix’s animated juggernaut of the summer, which has left every other Netflix title in its wake.

The final count for KPop Demon Hunters sees it at:

  • 325,100,000 views globally
  • 541,800,000 hours watched globally

We’ve teamed up with Emily Horgan for a special deep-dive into all the stats we have for KPop Demon Hunters for the past 91 days to look at its meteoric rise to become Netflix’s most-watched property launch in history, beating Red Notice by almost 100M views in the end (230.90 vs 325.10M) and Squid Game (265.20M views).

1. Billionaires’ Bunker Debuts To An OK 3.7M Views

Alex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato are considered Netflix hit-makers with the Spanish duo behind Netflix’s Money Heist and the spin-off series Berlin, which are juggernauts. The rest of their output thus far has been mixed, and last week, their big swing, Billionaires’ Bunker, debuted to a middling 3.7M views, placing it above Olympo (still yet to be officially renewed for a season 2) but well below some of the limited series hits of 2025.

It certainly sets up more for a second season to come, with a classic Money Heist-style cliffhanger, leaving the door open for more to come. Will it get there, though? It may need to pick up the pace in the weeks to come.

2. Black Rabbit Debuts Low

The big new English-language series launch of last week featured the talents of Jude Law and Jason Bateman, a potent pairing that Netflix was definitely hoping would make a big splash. It’s a relatively low start, with 6.6M views in its opening week, placing it among the lower openings for a limited series in recent years.

3. Haunted Hotel

Haunted Hotel, the new animated series that comes from one of the writers on Rick & Morty, debuted with 1.8M views in its first week.

Without sounding too facetious, the fact that the series got into the top 10 at all this week is an achievement on its own, given that many recent titles, including Big Mouth’s final season, Long Story Short, and even Tomb Raider, failed to get into it at all. That said, if this hasn’t already received a second season renewal as part of an upfront order, we’re 50/50 on its future right now, given that proper renewal orders for animated series are increasingly rare.

4. She Said Maybe

Netflix Germany has had a good run this year on the movie side, with Exteritorial residing in Netflix’s all-time top 10 and Brick having some solid legs. So, how will its new romantic comedy fare, given that it also features some major actors from Turkey? It’s a middle of the pack release ultimately with 7.2M views.

5. The Ba***ds of Bollywood

Last week, Netflix debuted what is perhaps its most colorful new Indian series to date, and it garnered 2.8 million views.

6. Week 2 Updates for Beauty in Black and The Wrong Paris

Season 2 of Beauty in Black is edging ahead of its first season in week 2, with this show easily becoming Tyler Perry’s flagship, and he’ll get put to the test once again next week with his new movie (he’s producing, not directing), Ruth & Boaz debuting. Once again, a strong contender for a season 3 renewal either before or after part 2 returns in 2026.

The Wrong Paris we marked as a disappointment in its week 1 performance last week, but has anything changed? Hours jumped 70% which is definitely heading in the right direction, but still ranks towards the bottom of this year’s movie releases.

7. Wednesday Season 2 Still Destined for #4 In All-Time Top 10

Wednesday Season 2 dropped 52% again this week, with the season now rising one spot in the all-time top 10 to the number 8 spot, with 102.6M views.

Once again, I’ve tapped Frederic of Netflix & Chiffres for his updated take on Wednesday season 2, and the prediction remains the same: by the end of the 91 days after Part 2 releases, we’re expecting the series to be in the fourth spot. Another interesting observation he has made is that the evolution of views for this particular split season is following the trajectory of Stranger Things S4 and Bridgerton S3.
