The long-awaited fourth season of Rick and Morty has landed, much to the rapturous applause of fans. But fans in the UK have noticed a distinct lack of season 4 on Netflix, so where is it? Sadly it looks like Rick and Morty season 4 isn’t coming to Netflix anytime soon and here’s why.

Rick and Morty is a adult-animated comedy series created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Adult Swim. Its popularity cannot be understated, exploding onto the scene in 2013, Rick and Morty have since become one of the most popular animated shows to date.

Why Isn’t Rick and Morty season 4 on Netflix UK?

Naturally, there is a lot of confusion surrounding the fact that the fourth season of Rick and Morty isn’t on Netflix UK. This is a massive contrast compared to the previous season, which aired on Netflix UK on a weekly basis.

The future of the series on Netflix UK has already been wildly debated, thanks to Channel 4 and Adult Swim’s content deal that was struck in January 2019. Rick and Morty were included in the line up of titles and it was reported that Channel 4 would broadcast the fourth season on C4, and would also be available on its free digital service All 4, after broadcast.

Fans in the UK will be incredibly happy to learn that the fourth season of Rick and Morty will be coming to the UK earlier than expected. It was previously reported that the fourth season wasn’t coming to the UK until January 2020. Thanks to a backlash from disappointed fans, Channel 4 has brought the premiere date forward to November 20th, 2019. The first episode can be watched on E4 at 10 pm.

The fourth season is being split into two halves of five, so Channel 4 will receive the latter half sometime in 2020.

Will Rick and Morty season 4 come to Netflix in the future?

At the time of writing, we cannot confirm that Rick and Morty season 4 is coming to Netflix UK.

We’d be very surprised if the fourth season doesn’t come to Netflix UK. This is because Channel 4 only has the rights to air Rick and Morty exclusively on free-to-air television, and despite having the library of Adult Swim titles, Rick and Morty have yet to leave Netflix UK.

It’s our belief that Rick and Morty will come to Netflix UK eventually, but not until all of the fourth season has aired. This means subscribers could be waiting until late 2020 or 2021 before the fourth season arrives on Netflix UK.

It’s worth noting that Rick and Morty is one of Netflix UK’s most-watched titles, and arguably if it wasn’t for the streaming service, the audience of Rick and Morty wouldn’t be as large in the UK as it is today.
