Following a slew of recent Starz pickups, Netflix is set to license all two seasons of the critically acclaimed comedy-drama series Blindspotting, arriving in the United States on October 20th.
Created by Rafael Casal and Daveed Diggs, Blindspotting serves as a television spin-off sequel to the 2018 film of the same name. If you missed it during its original run on Starz, you’re about to get the perfect opportunity to binge the entire series from start to finish.
Both seasons—totaling 16 episodes—will be dropping on Netflix US on October 20th. (As always, please keep in mind this currently applies only to Netflix in the United States, and availability in other international regions will vary, as we’re not currently expecting a global rollout.)
What to expect from Blindspotting
Set six months after the events of the movie, the series shifts focus to Ashley (played by Jasmine Cephas Jones). Her world is flipped upside down when her partner of 12 years and the father of her son, Miles, is suddenly incarcerated. To make ends meet, she is forced to move in with Miles’ mother (Helen Hunt) and his half-sister (Jaylen Barron), leading to a chaotic, hilarious, and emotionally grounded exploration of navigating life in Oakland, California.
The show beautifully blends its comedy-drama roots with spoken-word poetry and dance, making it one of the most uniquely stylized and thought-provoking series of the past few years. The ensemble cast also features Benjamin Earl Turner, Atticus Woodward, and Candace Nicholas-Lippman, with guest appearances from legends like E-40 and LeVar Burton.
If you need any more convincing to add it to your queue, both seasons currently sit at a flawless 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite earning rave reviews from critics and audiences alike, Starz unceremoniously canceled the series back in September 2023 alongside Heels and Run The World. Now, thanks to the magic of the “Netflix Bump,” the show is poised to find the massive audience it always deserved.

The Starz to Netflix Pipeline Continues
Blindspotting is just the latest in a rapidly growing list of Lionsgate/Starz titles making their way to Netflix US. Over the past couple of years, Netflix has leaned heavily into licensing from premium cable channels to bolster its domestic library.
Recently, we’ve covered the arrival of the critically acclaimed crime series Hightown, plus more recent upcoming additions Party Down and the massive 50 Cent-produced hit Power.
Of course, these licensing arrangements aren’t permanent. As we’ve consistently reported, these Starz stints usually last around two years. For example, the epic pirate drama Black Sails departed Netflix in April 2026 after its own two-year window came to a close, and the wrestling drama Heels was also recently removed following its own licensing run.
If you want to catch Blindspotting, you’ll likely have a similarly lengthy—but limited—window to watch it once it lands on the service.
