When and will Netflix’s F is for Family be returning for season 3? With any luck, the answer will be yes and below, we’ll track and predict what’s in store for season 3 of the show. We’ll also have a prediction as to when we’ll see the next season join Netflix.
Just a recap for anyone not familiar with the show. The series first debuted on Netflix on December 18th, 2015 and was renewed shortly after for a second season which landed on Netflix on May 30th, 2017. The first season released with 6 episodes and was upped to 10 for the second season. The series is headlined by Bill Burr with Laura Dern and Justin Long providing additional vocals. Vince Vaughn also serves as an executive producer for the show but doesn’t have any roles in it.

F is for Family Renewal Status

The series has yet to be renewed but we predict that it’s likely they will renew it because of its popularity and fills a genre gap that up until F is for Family released, was solely filled with Bojack Horseman.
At the time of writing, Netflix has recently announced it was canning two of their big Netflix Originals as they try and refine their library. The Get Down and Sense8 were both included but given F is for Family’s smaller production we don’t think it’ll be grouped with them and canceled.
The Twitter account for the writers of the show has expressed optimism for a renewal.

The studio behind the production is also behind Hemlock Grove and Narcos of which Narcos is the only one to continue.
Bill Burr stars as Frank in F is for Family
As for the show’s stars returning, Bill Burr continues to tour as part of his comedy stand-up act. It’s also likely he’ll be returning to Better Call Saul soon but otherwise, his attention seems to be fully on F is for Family which is good for the show’s future.
When will Season 3 of F is for Family come to Netflix?
The best way to figuring out when F is for Family will come to Netflix is by looking at the past release schedule. Netflix shows tend to different quite a lot from normal network shows in the sense that they don’t follow a traditional yearly release schedule. This is the case with F is for Family as the second season came one year and five months after the first.
The only other animated sitcom on Netflix, Bojack Horseman, releases on a yearly basis but is a much bigger production.
If F is for Family will continue on its current trajectory that means we’ll see season 3 of F is for Family arrive in fall 2018. If they produce fewer episodes we may see it even sooner. It may also be possible that we see a Christmas episode this year like we have with Bojack in the past.
