Are the ‘Harry Potter’ Movies on Netflix?

The Harry Potter movies are some of the most influential movies of all time and thankfully, some are streaming on Netflix although it varies a lot depending on where in the world you live.

Based on the timeless books from J.K Rowling, the movie franchise follows a young wizard named Harry Potter who carries a scar given to him by another wizard when he was younger. The movie franchise follows Harry, Ron Weasley and Hermoine Granger on their adventures in Hogwarts. There is a total of 8 films, spanning over 10 whole years, during which the franchise has built up a massive loyal fan-base.

Without further ado, let’s run through each of the movies and take a look whether they are streaming on Netflix, and in which regions.

TitleRegion Available
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s StoneNew Zealand
Harry Potter and the Chamber of SecretsNew Zealand
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of AzkabanNew Zealand
Harry Potter and the Goblet of FireNew Zealand
Harry Potter and the Order of the PheonixN/A
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood PrinceN/A
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1N/A
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2N/A

Unfortunately, especially in the last few months, we’ve seen the Harry Potter titles fluctuate quite a lot between regions. For example. just a couple months ago all the films that were available in Australia were removed. Also, both Order of the Pheonix and the Half-Blood Prince were available in New Zealand until recently.

In the United States, the movies are still performing well on video on demand platforms and you can bet your bottom dollar that it’d cost a fortune for Netflix to pick up the licensing. As of right now, the USA Network HBO still retain all rights to air the movies, and it doesn’t look like this is going to change anytime soon.

In the United Kingdom, Sky currently holds the rights to the movies with the entire collection regularly available on the NowTV platform it runs.

We hope this has given you an indication as to where you can stream the Harry Potter movies on Netflix even if it’s not quite the ideal scenario.
