It’s Thanksgiving and if you’re settling down for your annual watch of ‘Planes, Trains and Automobiles’ wondering whether you’ll have the pleasure of watching on Netflix, you’ll be out of luck.

The movie is a holiday favorite among millions this time of year and stars Steve Martin and the late, John Candy. The movie wasn’t an instant hit when it released in cinemas in 1987. Instead, the movie has grown a cult following ever since.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles is not on Netflix in 2018

As you’ve probably figured out by now, ‘Planes, Trains and Automobiles’ is not on Netflix this year. We have the releases for December 2018 and it hasn’t been included there either.

Sadly, if you’re looking for alternative streaming options, you’ll be out of luck too. The movie is only available on video-on-demand services or Netflix DVD although obviously, you won’t be getting it in time for Thanksgiving now.

Will this change in the future?

Of course, it’s always likely that in the future that Netflix may pick the movie up. In fact, it has been on Netflix before. The last time the movie was on Netflix was back in 2015 before leaving Netflix in January 2016.

Are other regions streaming the movie?

No other Netflix regions are streaming the movie. Of course, it’s only Americans that celebrate Thanksgiving in November so the movie isn’t quite as popular abroad.

If you are looking for the movie abroad, for Brits, you’ll find it on NowTV or Sky.

Much like the Americans, those in Canada and Australia only have video-on-demand options in 2018.

Are you disappointed you won’t be watching Planes, Trains and Automobiles on Netflix this year? Let us know in the comments.
