On Friday Netflix announced there would not be another season of Luke Cage. In a joint statement released with Marvel, Netflix said the following:

“Unfortunately, Marvel’s Luke Cage will not return for a third season. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is grateful to the dedicated showrunner, writers, cast and crew who brought Harlem’s Hero to life for the past two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series.”

This declaration comes hot on the heels of the news that Iron Fist would not see another season.

As of this writing, the petition has over 2,650 supporters. Is it enough to bring him back? We will see.

There is a theory that the end of the two series is preparation for a new spinoff series: Heroes For Hire. The comic series featured the two heroes teaming up to run a private investigation operation. And there may be a hint from one of the stars of Iron Fist that the series may happen.

A fist bump between the two heroes gives us hope!

What do you think? Are the series done or is this a windup for a new spinoff series? Let us know in the comments.
